I guess this is just my hangup and I will let it go here, but I just don't feel that bigger = better. When I hear/read "better roster" I feel like the quality of the product should be taken into account, not just size. You made other good points which I over-deleted, sorry. I get where you're coming from, but it was stated as figure roster, not figure lines. Bigger doesn't neccisarily mean better, quality still counts. Many (especially Dean F'n Ambrose) will probably think the Mattel roster is still better because of the wrestling ability of guys that Jakks never got to make. There aren't many people who'd argue Jakks quality is better, though. I would argue that the Jakks head scans are better

I think Mattel has made a better Punk, for instance, but Jakks' Nash is far better.

I agree...Mattel has some better ones, but I think overall, Jakks had better scans. This might be because Jakks farmed out the scanning to Gentle Giant (a pioneer in the field) and Mattel stayed in house.

Mattel had a better current roster to work with, but Jakks had a better Legends roster. Mattel figures are still 1000 times better though.

Take a look at the WWE.com article on Alex Riley getting scanned, or the video of Eva Marie getting scanned.

Interesting....jakks is almost winning by a landslide. On top of that jakks classics have been skyrocketing in value lately. I guess people realize that Mattel will never make some of the less popular characters. "Shockmaster", enough said.

Roster - obviously it's Jakks seeing they had the license for at least 15 years. But as far as product quality goes it's Mattel.

Jakks MAY have gotten the license in 1995 but the first figures did NOT appear until 1996. Being the old fart around here that was around when LJN had the license I know what I am talking about. And to add to that, Jakks was FOUNDED in 1995. And to further my point from my previous post, Mattel was founded just 50 years before Jakks. Please think twice before comparing the quality of these companies from their early years. Unless you want to find something Mattel made between the years of 1946-1950, which is just as silly.

And now no one will be using Gentle Giant anymore. It was sold to another company.

Mattel head sizes are all over the place, and their inability to properly paint their heads is an embarrassment.

I don't remember Owen Hart by Jakks, do you? BCA. That's why I give the roster to Jakks. Because for 15 years between BCA, TTL, R3, RA, DA and CS they put out way more names just because of the longevity of the license they had many rosters to deal with. But Mattel has put out a good number for 3/4 years. Mattel head sizes are all over the place Same can be said with Jakks. Off the top of my head these CS all suffered from out of scale heads. Bob Backlund, Scott Hall, Lance Storm, Lex Luger, Tully Blanchard. And I'm sure there's more. Seeing both companies used Gentle Giant studios and some of the same sculptors they both have hits and misses.

Jakks made Shockmaster, Andy Kaufman, and Johnny Rodz... Mattel can't even find an outlet for a highly requested guy like Magnum TA
