It might be an unfair advantage posting in the Mattel board but this is frequented by most members.
Who in your opinion has the better roster made in figure form? Jakks or Mattel?
Despite Jakks doing a great roster doing the likes of Ultimo Dragon, Sabu, Sandman, Raven, Super Crazy and all the old favourites I'd slightly give the edge to Mattel.
Because I far prefer the current roster to the later Jakks years (2006-2009) the roster was so weak in those years in my opinion.
The fact Mattel has gave us Daniel Bryan, Antonio Cesaro, Macho Man, Tyler Black (Seth Rollins), Jon Moxley (Dean Ambrose), Damien Sandow, Ryback, Sin Cara amongst countless other new characters which is something that Jakks didn't do much of in certain periods.

I mean, the roster is far more talented now then arguably ever. The variety is lacking, but at least just about everyone nowadays can put on a 15 minute plus match. Jakks' legends obviously remains superior though to Mattel's

jakks gave us everyone they were ever allowed to...mattel hasn't done that for financial reasons, but still - their choice
jakks only didn't give us a few at the end because they were winding down

This isn't even close... Jakks made CS which was at least 23-24 good sets (dropped the ball after that) covering the most amount of past wrestlers of all time. On top of that, they had ruthless aggression which got upto something like 40+ series, and AD, which hit into the 20+ They also had the license through the attitude era, and while the figures weren't great, they still covered way more superstars the Mattel could dream of. All that said, it's not a fair question, as Mattel has t had the license long enough to compete.
I'm sure someone will have a list somewhere, but I'm betting Jakks has covered more superstars

Mattel does a great job with the selected figures they do, but I'm still really dissapointed they never made Elites of guys like Alex Riley when he was main eventing, Epico and Primo, Darren Young, Titus O'Neal, etc.

Jakks had the better roster, hands down, but they also had the license since the end of the New Generation era, so they have the unfair advantage of covering over fifteen years of WWF/WWE, whereas Mattel has only had, what, four years? Future and current talent that debuted after their license was up, the only edge Mattel has on Jakks is Randy Savage. Remember, not only did they cover an insane amount of legends in the Classic Superstars line, they also made guys that didn't make a big enough impact to have a Flashback figure (e.g. Godwins, Taka Michinoku, Dan Severn, etc.), but they also made guys that won't ever get Flashbacks due to other circumstances (Owen Hart, Chyna, Chris Benoit, etc.).
What's more important is which quality is better, but that would be more skewed than this could ever be. Whichever board you put it in would choose their company, and if it were to go to some shared area (like The Lounge) Mattel would have the unfair advantage of some collector's on here being too young to even know what Jakks is.
In conclusion, I talk to much.

I love Mattel and they're by far the best toy maker on earth, but I was staring at my Jakks Classic Berzerker the other day.....

Being Honest, I love Mattel but we got a lot more variety from Jakks. So, I am going to have to say Jakks. Sorry Mattel fans.

I don't remember Owen Hart by Jakks, do you? Jakks did several Owen figures before he passed away. I have to say because of the great classic superstars line I would pick jakks. But in all fairness mattel came out with savage, steamboat and the Von Erich's which were awesome as well.

Jakks has a better roster by far, but Mattel has better figures.

its not even close.
Mattel has only been releasing figures for 4 years.
Jakks made figures for 15 years. Your never going to get Owen Hart, Benoit or Chyna from Mattel.
Maybe if Mattel holds the WWE license for 20 more years.....we'll see Jerry Brisco, Ron Bass, Johnny Rodz. I never collected Jakks after TTL. But whenever I see the wrestlers they made, It blows my mind.

Jakks. Mattel is nowhere close! Jakks produced far more legends and current roster guys. Whoever voted mattel I wanna hear a reason.

Jakks made more but, any company that gives me Randy Savage, Miss Elizabeth, Ricky Steamboat, & The Von Erichs wins in my book. Once Mattel gets the rights to Hogan & Flair this wouldn't be up for debate.

I'm not knocking Jakks really, just always preferred Savage to Hogan. Steamboat to Flair. So that gives Mattel bonus points in my view. I still hope someday Mattel gets around to Legends like Windham, JYD, Beefcake, Neidhart.
