The packaging for non-Mattel WWE products isn't a rip off of Mattels. They all have the same packaging because that's what Mattel/WWE wants. It creates a cohesive look. Mattel has the Master Toy License for WWE. This means they can make any type off WWE toys they want. In certain cases like the ring, key chains, the Stackdown sets, etc.. Mattel doesn't care to make them. Other companies want to so with Mattel/WWE's consent the other companies can. However, they have to use the same packaging. It's the same with other toy lines as well. Playmates has the Turtles licence but even though they don't make the keychains, headphones, etc. . All of those still come in playmates purple Turtles packaging.

Have been looking around for an ESR for months now and can't find any (at a reasonable price at least). Will be picking this up when it comes out for sure.

I'm excited. Jeremy was head of Jakks during its golden age. Wicked Cool hasn't had much of a chance to prove itself. Jeremy got a bunch of add - ons for the RSR. The Elimination Chamber, HiAC, Cages etc. I'll see what it looks like before I give my opinion.

Why is another company making legitimate WWE action figures and such?

Why is another company making legitimate WWE action figures and such? Likely because Mattel and WWE probably have a contractual agreement for only certain types of products. Its also possible other companies have paid Mattel for a sub-licensing agreement. This is purely speculation but the most plausible explanations.

Why is another company making legitimate WWE action figures and such? We should be happy. Those bad folks who bought the rings to resell for 400 needs to be thought a lesson.Hoping the authentic brings the prices down across the board. I love if two companies made wwe figures. More Competition, more value and quality to consumer.

I'm assuming this ring is going to resemble the current WWE ring.
So, I guess this ring would have:
- White ropes - Raw 1000 ring apron (Current ring apron) - Either rubber or fabric turnbuckles - Fabric ring mat - Grey steel steps that come in 2 pieces
And this would be the appearance, once assembled. Baring in mind that this is an assumption.
I hope it turns out well and will lead to additions such as cages and/or a Hell in a cell play set.

Not to be a negative Nancy, but everything Wicked Cool Toys has put out have been ANYTHING but wicked cool. Definitely waiting for protos to judge, but I dont expect it to be good. I want to know why their packaging is just a rip off of Mattel's. First it was the 2013 red and white, now it's the 2014 blue and gold. And most of their stuff looks like cheap knockoffs without the cheap price. Both WCT and Mattel are both licensing from WWE. It stands to reason that WWE has branding guidelines to ensure a continuity of their brand identity across multiple licensors. Seriously, how are people overlooking such an obvious common denominator as WWE on this? There is no reason to think anyone is "ripping off" anything or trying to mimic Mattel. Both licensors are probably working off the same design guidelines and seeking packaging approval from the same people at WWE.
