why doesn't Mattel make elite style belts but in packaging. For instance rsc has loose belts on there website. mattel could make shiny belts for 5 or 6 bucks each in their own packaging.

They already said no to it. I would like to see it happen as well but they said a 5 or 6 belt pack would cost like 50 or 60 bucks and having them with figures adds incentive to buy them.

For starters, they'd cost more than that. Producing belts individually in their own packaging, you'd be looking at about $10 each, maybe more. And the market for $10+shipping for one belt is smaller than the number of customers they would need to make a profit on them. Plus, including belts with figures sells the figures.

Shelf space is so competitive these days. I don't see too many place carrying them.

$50 for 5 Belts or $60 for 6 Belts is the price I would pay, but then again, I only collect te Belts. "Leather and Gold" is kinda my thing. HA!!

If they did a 4 pack of classic elite belts it could retail at $50 EASY and everyone would buy it. The fact that Mattel didn't include classic tag belts with Gunn & Dogg makes me hope it's bc they have something like this planned.

Definitely won't happen. A lot of people buy elites solely for the belts and they'd be losing money this way.

You're confusing "something a few people would pay huge money for" with "something a lot of people would pay pretty large money for." Elite rings sell online for $300+ because a few people really want them. But people didn't buy the thousands upon thousands of them in stores when they were $60-70. Same thing with belts: To collectors, yes, they're worth a lot of money. To the average buyer, they're just a cool accessory that comes with an elite figure. A four-pack of belts is not going to fly off WalMart shelves at $50. And the few people that did buy them would then have less incentive to buy the next flashback Bret Hart that comes with a belt, or the next flashback Shawn Michaels that comes with a belt etc.

Next Manufactured’s Sweater I'm curious how many Arn's RSC sold for $25 + plus shipping just bc people NEED that classic tag belt!?! and that's $25 people are paying just to get ONE belt and then re-selling the actual Arn fig online.

Not enough to keep the Legends line alive, evidently.

Next Manufactured’s Sweater the re-release of Arn, Bundy & DDP (post Legends) How many people saw Arn and bought TWO of him just to get a set of classic tag belts?

Again: Not enough to keep the Legends line alive. Fantasising is nice, but never let it cloud reality. A few Wfigs members alone do not make a toy profitable. Defining Moments. Entrance Greats. Legends (twice). Elite Scale Ring. All things aimed at hardcore collectors and died at retail. It's not going to happen.

hitmancmedge So true, everyone I know did this. And all of us already owned the Brain Busters and had one set of classic tag belts, then went back and bought two more Arn's just to have another set of classic tag belts. $50 for 4 elite belts will sell.

How many Arn Anderson figures would you have bought if you already had the two belts from a belt pack, perfectlyrude?

Well, I am one if those Belt collectors and in a few days, I should have all of the ones I want. If Mattel does this, chances are I will not be buying these. If they did it today, they would be about 4 months too late for this collector. Now, if they did this with Belts that were not released yet, like a WCW set, or ECW set, or a set that has the Andre 87 Belt, Rated R Spinner Belt, shiny VAC Million Dollar Belt, Light Heavyweight Belt, and Cruserweight Belt, then I would get those 3 specific sets.
I must be the only one that got extremely lucky with buying a set if Classic Tag Team Belts for $20.
