Ive seen the ppv. They will cut out that whole part all in all.
Thats the only thing that would make sense about this situation.

I dont really see the big deal. Its not like they're going to show Owen's head pinging off the ring post.

I'm ok with it as long as the incident and all mention of it after aren't seen or mentioned.
However
I want the Raw from the next night to be available. Such an emotional night. I teared up watching the PPV aswell as the Raw.

I don't have a problem with them showing the PPV on the network. Aside from the Owen tragedy I always liked the PPV because I'm a huge New Age Outlaws fan and this was when they went head to head after their break up as a tag team.
Having said that, like others have said, I DO think they should just edit out any and all things involving Owen and his match.

There is no footage of Owen falling. There's a Blue Blazer promo, then it cuts to JR saying Owen was in critical condition.

I have no interest in watching the Over the Edge PPV - the whole things just seems sad. I don't think I would enjoy watching any of the matches on the show even if all references to Owen Hart were edited. The same goes for Chris Benoit. It is difficult to watch his matches w/o thinking about what he did.

I was watching it when it happened. Not really eager to do so again.

It doesn't contain any footage of Owens fall or of him in the ring after. If it did I would understand some backlash toward showing it. But it doesn't, so I see no problem with airing the event. More than likely it will edit out any references to his death as well,if for no other reason than to not upset his widow any further. However there is no reason not to air the rest of the show. Much like the airing of Benoit matches ( and this may soon apply to Snuka as well) there is no need to go back in time and change the authenticity of the events as they occurred. In the case of Owens death, I can see the editing of this one event to remove any comments or reference to his death. There should be no need to make his family suffer through the loss again. Outside of that, they should be able to air the rest of the show. But, to be totally honest, this ppv wasn't really that good. I'm far more excited to see the WCW/ECW ppvs and relive some of my childhood with those 80s WWF events. .....The Big Event!......the Wrestling Classic!......hot damn!

Was anyone there live that night?
I don't know if it's been discussed before, but for the amount of people on this forum I'm surprised that atleast one person wasn't there.

Who would even want to watch it? If I hadn't seen it I would. It's a major event in wrestling history. It's interesting to look back on and reflect. I am fine with them making it available. Again it's not like anything graphic was aired.

Again it's not like anything graphic was aired. A man died under extremely bizarre circumstances. The PPV should be locked away and never seen again by anyone. It's an insult to his memory that it'd just be shown like it was any old PPV.

Didn't the WWF title change hands that night in the main event? Undertaker beat Austin for the belt or something?

It's an insult to his memory that it'd just be shown like it was any old PPV. something, something, those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Pretending it never happened isn't necessarily the best way to go about it either. I don't think there is a right or wrong to this situation. They show JFK, 9/11, and WWII footage of people dying all the time. They don't show his death. Really, you're just seeing the show it happened during, and the reaction of those who participated in it. Whether you think the show should have stopped or not doesn't really matter now. It didn't. It was very shocking and sad to watch live. But I don't see the point in hiding it, and I understand why those who haven't seen it would be interested in it. I personally am not interested in experiencing it again, but some people might. And if they want to make it available for those who do, I don't see the problem with it.

I certainly don't think the PPV should be locked away forever. Just edit out anything that could be considered hurtful and it will be fine. Im actually looking forward to seeing that PPV again.
