Everyone needs to stop hating on Jerry. It's not his fault wwe has told home he needs to cut back and be pg now. He said in an interview last year he has been begging the management to let him be the original jerry lawler. Bring back the jr and king pair. They were gold

How bout jbl and tenay. Cole and Lawler suck. Jbl is pretty good and mike tenay is much better

while I agree that commentary in today's WWE has been reduced to utter garbage
it's not Cole or JBl or Lawler
it's Vince. and whoever else might be in their ear directing them on what to say and when to say it. the issue is lack of creativity, lack or originality and lack of personality.
this company is so focused on selling itself as bigger than it is, they sacrifice ALL the great stuff of the past for cookie-cutter scripted garbage.
instead of giving the guys direction, and letting them flow themselves...they cut them off at the legs and basically order them to talk a certain way or mention certain things. watch RAW or Smackdown from like 4-5 years ago. (Before the social media era) and even then there were some issues, but nowhere near as bad as it is now.

The entire commentary sucks. They don't aid the product in the ring and that's seemingly no longer their job. I think Cole is worse than Lawler. I'm dead serious, guy  ing sucks. JBL would be fine if he had a true play-by-play guy he could work off of every night. 3 man teams are unnecessary as well. Matt Striker should have been treated like the next Jim Ross type of guy and instead WWE blocked the spot with Cole. Cole doesn't even know any of the moves. He's been in WWE for what, 15 years or so, and still can't call a match? Collectively they make Raw less entertaining for me. |

The problems with the commentary are the two has-beens King and JBL. At one point they were both great commentators but now they're both pretty awful. In King's case it's because he just doesn't seem too interested anymore. In JBL's case it's because all he does is start arguments with Cole and can't decide if he's heel or face. Both need to go.
Cole can stay and they have a lot of guys right now who could be good commentators. Renee Young, Scott Stanford, and William Regal all spring to mind. Hell, I think Wade Barrett would do really well on commentary too. He's not really doing much else.

Skeletor needs to use the Diamond Ray Of Disappearance on Michael Cole....Lawler needs to be moved into another role,perhaps a commissioner type role that way he can still be on the show,just not talking as much..That leaves JBL at commentary...Maybe pair him up with Scott Hudson,who I think was very underrated when he was in WCW and his short stint in WWE..If he could just not be as serious and be able to take JBL's heel commentary..I don't know...I think it doesn't matter really because the opinions will be bad no matter who is put out there..since they are all told what to say and when to say it....and they aren't as good as getting people over as they could be..Same with a lot of the in ring talent.Things would be a lot different if they weren't told everything to do...

Just get rid of Lawler, the guy is terrible. While he is old and lame and tells tired jokes, he is also the least offensive on the three to me. As a team, they are horrid. But it really is the clown in their earpieces who's to blame for it. |

Regardless of what, the move had yet to be performed by Cesaro and anything could have happened in between the time Cena was on the apron and dumped back in the ring. JBL's commentary during that spot spoiled it because its as if he clearly knew what the outcome of the entire match was going to be from that moment on. He could've waited for the move to be executed before saying something along the lines of "I didn't think he would be able to pull it off". And personally I don't think I've seen that spot pulled off before so it didn't settle well with me when he did it.

I enjoy JBL & Lawler...its Cole that Ive never liked. If I have to hear vintage, WWE App, Longest running weekly tv show or any other crap he spouts off throughout the night any more, Imma cut someone.

Yea a total revamp is needed. I find myself wanting to turn the TV down just so i cant hear them. JBL is striaght garbage anymore. Cole we all know how bad that can be. And Lawler while i love the guy , ive listened to him since the late 90s doing it and quite frankly im sick of him now. I find Alex Riley and that other jackwad on Main Event decent at times. I think people love JR becuz he leaves then returns and then gets fired and comes back , etc.. all of them need a break.

There are good commentators in wrestling. Sadly....WWE and TNA dont take advantage of them. Lawler has been so dumbed down. Cole is annoying. Tenay is terrible calling a match. Taz is possibly the worst color man of all time. JBL is the only decent commentator that either company has.
