WWE needs a racist commentator. Or the Road Dogg. It would terrible for the product BUT an episode of RAW where HHH commentates and just buries everyone and puts himself over would be funny. |

it's  ing brutal even at it's best. cole never ever should've been a commentator, lawler is brain dead for the most part about the current product, and jbl is toned down from the other two and also doesn't understand when to shut the hell up at times. it is BRUTAL |

He contributes nothing at all and his commentary is horrible to listen to. - At Summerslam 2013, he said hes never seen anything like a Ring Of Fire match. -When Shawn Michaels and Undertaker were the final two in the 2007 Royal Rumble, Lawler said hes never seen those two go at it. The first ever Hell In A Cell match is pretty hard to forget, especially since he was the one that called it. -The endless amount of weight jokes towards Vickie Guerrero even though she was in pretty good shape. And this Ok that's not great I agree... But still it would be like putting your grandpa in a home if they unceremoniously dropped him! I'll admit there's a certain amount of nostalgia in my wanting him kept around & maybe because of that I can't give a unbiased opinion. But considering what happened with JR getting dumped I just don't know what Jerry would do without WWE, JRs ok he's got his BBQ sauce "empire" & his podcast etc... What would Lawler do?! Make snow angels with all is money?................ |

One problem, it is no longer 'play by play'. I think it was JR who mentioned in one of the past few years this kind of commentary style is dead and not what WWE or Vince wants any longer. However, Lawler fails to deliver on a play by play or in any kind of way to the current mix. He is dreadful. JBL saves the commentary and is the only one who seems to come across with believable enthusiasm.

Lawler and especially JBL are fine, IMO. I just really wish they'd bring back Jim Ross and let him announce RAW and the PPVs.

Yea a total revamp is needed. I find myself wanting to turn the TV down just so i cant hear them. JBL is striaght garbage anymore. Cole we all know how bad that can be. And Lawler while i love the guy , ive listened to him since the late 90s doing it and quite frankly im sick of him now. I find Alex Riley and that other jackwad on Main Event decent at times. I think people love JR becuz he leaves then returns and then gets fired and comes back , etc.. all of them need a break. I like JBL because I love when he sings along to R-Truth's theme song. Alex Riley is....uhhhh. He speaks well, and he has a lot of enthusiasm and energy. Problem is that since he's technically part of the active roster, he tries too hard to be a character so that he get over in hopes of getting a push as a wrestler (Which I think he deserves because he's an underrated talent who didn't really get a fair shot). He would be better off if WWE gave him his own webshow or had him do skits backstage, because that would give him an outlet to showcase his personality and charisma without dragging down the rest of the show |

RAW - JR, Heyman and have JBL be the third man one week, Cole the week after and Josh Matthews the other week.
SD - JBL, Cole and Josh Matthews.
That would make today's commentary look 100X worse.

The commentary is one of the worst parts of Raw. All three of them need to be replaced.

The commentary is absolutely horrible, Lawler being the worst of the three by far, but I don't think they have very much control over it. I've heard Stone Cold talk about how different it is on his podcast and how they're fed so much information to relay to the viewer that the stuff that should be talked about gets lost in the shuffle.
Unfortunately, it makes them look horrible, and commentary is absolutely at an all time low, but that's the nature of the beast right now. The powers that be couldn't care less about having the action called. They just want the show to seem fun and for the app to be plugged.

Michael Cole is terrible, Lawler is disinterested, but JBL is just fine.
In a dream world Cole and King would retire and the WWE would invest in a better commentary team to pair up with JBL but...we know that's never happening.

I think more then anything else they need some new young blood in there just to freshen things up.
When your commentating team constantly makes jokes and references to things that happened in the 70s and 80s, you have a problem.

Raw:JR & Paul Heyman in their prime.
Main Event: Michael Cole and JBL
SmackDown: JBL, Regal and JR.
PPV: Regal, Heyman, and JR.

Bring back JR! Put Flair on commentary, that would be hilarious.
Isn't everything written down for them anywas? Every I catch the commentators on TV, they always have their head down, reading a script.
