NASCAR announces that practice and qualifying sessions will be reimplemented at 8 Cup weekends in 2021, for crown jewel or new events. The procedures for the remaining events or whether Xfinity or Trucks will also gain back sessions TBD.
• Feb. 14: Daytona 500
• March 28: Bristol Motor Speedway
• May 23: Circuit of the Americas
• May 30: Charlotte Motor Speedway
• June 20: Nashville Superspeedway
• July 4: Road America
• Aug. 15: IMS Road Course
• Nov. 7: Phoenix Raceway

Road course Clash? Eh. I wouldn't mind if the race is moved away from the superspeedway since we get the Duels plus the 500. But do something truly exhibitionist, quarter-miler or dirt.
A little too convenient of a finish.

I'm happy Almirola and Harvick had good runs but I was expecting more from Cole,he's never been the best at Daytona or Dega but with how good the other three was running I thought he would do better.

McD awarded the win after Penske's boys messed that up. Took forever for them to get that caution out, was thinking they would gift it to Chase. Glad everyone came out safe there.
A sleeper overall.

Happy to see McDowell get the win. I was also waiting for NASCAR to screw him. Awesome to see. Fell asleep for a some of it but clearly missed nothing

Don't care about the winner, just glad that Kyle (and everyone else) is okay. Think that speaks volumes about the state of racing at Daytona and Talladega these days.

Really nice seeing McDowell get the huge win,he's been close so many times and it all paid off for him. Glad everybody came away ok tonight after all that damage. Didn't get to see what the 14 or 10 had but I'm really happy with how good Custer ran and Harvick had another solid 500 just can't come up with that second victory.

I enjoyed this race until Chase wrecked for a 2nd time cause he ended up stuck in the middle of the pack....just turned it off soon as he spun, dont even care

Really happy with how well Briscoe and Custer ran today,Chase didn't get the finish he deserved but Cole has had two good finishes and run well throughout both races.

McDowell is shocking the NASCAR world with the season he's having,I don't think nobody seen this guy running in the top ten in the first three races.
I hope Cole can finish this great race he's having and get up there and mix it up with the top three.

Can't believe were 5 races in(Cup&Xfinity) and have 4 first time winners. Well now add a guy that got his first win around 10-12 races ago,this year could be the oddest I’ve seen in a long time and I got to admit I’m digging it. If Redick could’ve got around Larson and Truex quicker I think he would’ve made it 5 of 6 new winners,I guarantee nobody seen this coming. After the last couple years we’ve had with Harvick and the Gibbs crew winning half the races in Cup and Bell,Custer,Redick,Cindric and Briscoe dominated Xfinity this year looks like things are finally becoming a lot more competive and equal. |

This kinda makes me feel like the early 00s when we had the young guns coming in. Harvick, Stewart, Busch, Johnson were rookies and guys like Dal Sr, Rusty, Mark Martin, Elliott were fading back.

Procedures for the upcoming Bristol dirt race for the Cup and Truck Series. Practice sessions on Friday, March 26 Qualifying heats for both series on Saturday. - 4 15-lap heats, only green laps count - Random draws determine starting positions - Starting spots for Mains determined by finishes in heats and "pass points" (positive gains during heat) Trucks Main - 150 laps, Stage breaks at 40 and 90 Cup Main - 250 laps, Stage breaks at 75 and 150 - No Lane Option other than lead vehicle - No live pit road. Work only permitted at Stage breaks unless necessary.
