Did anybody else go to the WWF New York restaurant when it was around?
I went to NYC in 2002 to see World Trade Center site, go to David Letterman taping AND get wasted at CBGBs. My friend and I ate dinner at WWF New York during our trip. The food was so-so, but it was a cool experience. I kept a black napkin with the WWF logo on it.

Yep. I'm a big punk rock & Ramones fan. I made sure to go there for at least one night and drink my weight in beer. My friend and I ended up going there three nights in a row. It's a shame it's no longer there. It should have been made into a museum. I stole one of the cheap glass candles off a table. I still have it.

A co-op owned the building and raised the rent on the CBGBs owner without him knowing. They sued him for almost $100k for back rent. The rent was almost $20k a month and he couldn't pay it anymore. I think some parts of the building are in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. I know the awning from the outside is there. If you're talking about WWF Restaurant. I'm guessing it wasn't financially viable. I'd imagine to rent any space in Time Square is crazy expensive.

My girlfriend (now my wife) and I went in 2001, I think it was....
I was disappointed.... I found the "gift shop" to be very pricey, and didn't really have all that much stuff... I was expecting to see a lot of cool memorabilia, like a museum.... and there really wasn't much memorabilia at all.... I think they had a life-size cardboard cutout of The Rock, I was quite underwhelmed by that.... the dining room was cool, we sat in a "steel cage" area.... but the food was expensive, and it was just regular hamburgers and stuff.....
Just disappointed - maybe I got my hopes up too high, as usual....

It was a little more expensive than Applebees. I ordered chicken fingers/fries and I think it was maybe $12 w/ drink.

I went in the summer of 2002. Personally, I loved it. I could understand why people thought the stuff in the store was a little pricey. But I ended up getting some discounted shirts (WM18, Hogan) for like $15 a piece. Cheaper than ordering online. I went on a Monday & was there to see Raw. Lita & Moolah were there signing autographs, so I met them. Then watched the show while I ate dinner. I loved how into it the crowd got. If there was another WWE restaurant today, I'd be there in a heartbeat.
Ironically enough, my best friend texted a photo to me today. He was doing some spring cleaning & found the WWF New York drinking glass I got for him.

Yeah that was an awesome place, I went there a few times when I was like 11 or 12 years old. I personally think they should bring it back.

I went in October 2002 to watch SmackDown! and D'Lo Brown was there. Was pretty cool as a kid to be there and meet a Superstar.

I always loved the idea and wished I could go when they'd show it on TV or in the magazines, but most of the reviews and things I've seen of it were quite negative.

I went a few times. I remember my mom buying me a Rock elbow pad from there. Wish I knew where that thing was.

I loved the idea but never went. I was in NYC in 1994 and it wasn't open yet and when I was there in 2005, 2011, and 2012 it was closed. They used to have someone reporting there during ppv's and they would always cut in. It was dumb when they changed the name to "The World" after they dropped the F. Why not just WWE New York? Dumb

I went in 2000 on a family vacation to New York City. I was pretty young at the time, so it was incredibly cool to me, but I remember thinking the food was just okay and that my parents didn't care for it that much.
I was really excited about the store, and expected them to have all the figures I could imagine. In reality, they just had the same crap I could get back at home, but at nearly double the price.
