So I know it's kind of unpopular around here but I'm really enjoying Adam Rose so far...
I like how his gimmick is all about fun which is something completely different than Wyatts, Shield, Evolution, etc.
I certainly don't see this gimmick making Adam Rose a main eventer but it's fine for the role he's currently playing.
He seems very comfortable in the role and he looks like he's having a ton of fun out there also. Plus, the crowd is already into it (for now) by singing along with his entrance music. This could just turn into another Fandango/Santino type deal but I hope not. I'd be lying if I said the past few Adam Rose segments haven't entertained me in some way.

I also like the guy, not everyone has to be serious you need a few comedy gimmicks. His match with Swagger on Smackdown was pretty entertaining. I was singing along with his theme at the o2 with much enthusiasm( & He's Got The Whole World In His Hands for Wyatt too).

I love the gimmick as well. I really love how fun it looks to be there during his NXT matches at Full Sail.

I like him. He's enthusiastic, he does some funny stuff in his matches and his music is awesome. The whole thing is so totally random, I can't help but love it all.

I thought he was really fun/different at NXT Take Over when he was all fun and games until getting his ass kicked in the match and then turned it up to second gear.
He's comedy but not Santino comedy where it's the ENTIRE match.
He has more of a carefree gimmick than straight comedy I'd say.

After seeing a clip from Smackdown, I see Rose having the potential of getting himself over. He is a fun character and as long as he doesn't get injured like Fandango, he has a bit of momentum to ride on.

WWE killed Fandango when they tried to make Fandangoing a "thing" instead of just letting it continue to happen organically. Fandango and Fandangoing was the hottest thing for a couple weeks until WWE tried to take credit and almost forced it on the audience by talking it up and even incorporating it into his entrance video. Once WWE tried to force it on the crowd instead of letting it be a crowd creation, he was done. |

From what I've seen on here, Wreddit, and Wrestling_Forum, many posters have automatically written off Adam Rose for the fact that he's playing a comedy character and he isn't Sami Zayn. Saw a few random homophobic comments about him, too.
Sami Zayn and even Neville might be better overall packages than Rose, and heck, even I'll admit that they are since they are younger, more interesting in the ring, and simply have more potential due the the lack of outlandishness in their gimmicks. Rose is (almost) 35 and is quite obviously a comedy character who probably won't see even the US title. I'd much rather, though, see WWE take their time with Zayn and debut him carefully with long-term plans (unlike Xavier Woods [yuck] and Alexander Rusev, who they sat on for 3 months after the rumble and then decided to change his name and add the cheap Russian stuff]. Rose has been waiting down in Florida for over 4 years, and this character brings a couple quick laughs and t-shirt sales to the roster.
Also, as a kid, characters like The Oddities, Too Cool, Godfather, Val Venis, Sexual Chocolate Mark Henry, etc, had a place in my heart. Those characters were all a bit silly, and they clearly weren't going to be main eventers. Nevertheless, they had their place and were, to many folks, entertaining. Maybe some people think they've outgrown comedy characters, and yes, I also cringe at Khali segments and the stuff they were doing with Emma/Santino, but comedy characters are always going to have a place in wrestling.
To steal a line from that 9/11/13 NXT practice promo... I think a lot of fans refuse to invest in him "because [his] name is not Seth Rollins... or Dean Ambrose... or Antonio Cesaro." He is, instead, a guy who busted his ass over in Africa for 10 years and busted his ass over here for another 4. He went from being "generic cocky good looking guy #9001" to the deranged poacher/mercenary, and he played that character perfectly. When he switched to Adam Rose, I immediately wrote him off, but dang, in my opinion, he plays the character perfectly, and he has a fun and addictive entrance/theme song.
So, yeah, different strokes for different folks; some people might just not like him, and that's cool. He might not be your cup of tea. Also, yes, I realize that I'm probably going to get written off as "HURR DURR UR A ROSE MARK," but I think that people need to give him a freaking chance.
I, too, like Adam Rose.

I agree with quite a bit of this...well said. Adam Rose is something new and different. I love new and different. He is unlike anybody else and every other character on the roster at the moment. This is a GREAT thing. Xavier Woods is....doing nothing. Rusev is working the lamest, cheap heat 1984 gimmick ever and it's absolute garbage. When Adam Rose comes out it's something new, fresh and different. In wrestling, that is always a good thing. |

I watched Raw FOR Adam Rose this past week, it's probably one of the best silly gimmicks WWE has ran with. Hell he got Andrew WK's attention which is always a good thing.

When I first saw Adam Rose on NXT, he became my favourite thing in wrestling. Haven't been a huge fan of his stuff on Raw and Smackdown so far, but he does seem to be getting better each week. People who hate fun/comedy characters are just a bit insecure about liking wrestling, don't worry about it.

I've been loving Rose since he debuted the gimmick on NXT.
Will he ever be a world champion? No, probably not. But not everyone has to be. He has a fun gimmick, he plays it great, and he's just fun to watch.
Not everyone who is added to the roster has to be the next Shield, and people should just lighten up and enjoy a character like Adam Rose.
