Watching this video back, it makes me realise that Taker was replaced by Bulldog.
Really? I understand that Taker was injured but was there nobody better or higher on the ladder even near to the UnderTaker? Could anyone imagine what it would have been like if Taker had been involved? Or was he always injured and 'out' of the Match even when they first announced the Six Pack Challenge.
I also find it extremely strange how UnderTaker goes from 'Bad Ass' to 'Ministry' Attire. And where the hell are Taker and Show's Tag Team Titles?! 1999, you so confusing.

Bulldog had just returned and was booked to be part of the main event. He stuck around the top for a month or two after he returned.

I loved Bulldog's 1999 theme music. His blue jean attire sucked though. Plus, Jakks screwed us on releasing his TTL figure. Mattel should make up for it.
Bulldog left for WCW in 1997 with Bret and Neidhart, returned to WWF in 1999 and won the Hardcore title, flirted with the main event, got Rock Bottomed in dog poop, joined the Mean Street Posse, got released, worked the indies, died.
Sucked.

Yeah Bulldogs 1999 time was weird......he was a shell of his former self(understandably)and there was NO way he could have lingered near the ME for any longer than he did.
he just wasn't up to it sadly.

And where the hell are Taker and Show's Tag Team Titles?! 1999, you so confusing. British Bulldog was a veteran and pretty high on the ladder. I can't think of a single person not involved in the match already who was higher than him. He's a guy who had main evented pay per views before with big names like Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels. Undertaker towards the end of his Ministry run would show up backstage in his regular street clothes, which you call Bad Ass attire. It was just him, not an attire. Plus he seemed to be getting tired of the level of evil the character had taken on. Which is why after he left, he came back for the firsttime as the American Bad Ass. As far as the Tag titles, they were passed around like hotcakes in '99. I think Big Show and Taker lost them to either Rock and Sock or the Holly cousins. Don't honestly remember without looking at the histories. But nobody had a long title reign in '99. Most of the year was prettymuch a clusterf*ck. Thank goodness things got better in 2000. But '99 is definitely my least favorite Attitude Era year.

I consider Bulldog's 6 pack match to be pretty much the final match of his career. After that he switched to Jeans, went down into the hardcore division and hung out with the Mean Street Posse. I love his 6 pack-attire so much, it's the same tights he wore at WM12.
After reading Bret's book, he sounded like a bit of a knob around this time. He was such a talented man though, they wasted so many opportunities with him.
@bashcrashwiley that theme sucked my hairy balls.

What was the deal with KOTR 1999? Why was Billy Gunn wearing a tag title? And why did they wear only 1 tag title at Survivor Series 1999. So many questions...

Well it didn't help that his back was trashed from taking a bump in WCW where Warriors trapdoor was set up. Apparently, nobody backstage told the guys about the trapdoor in the ring which could (and did) cause injury if you bump on it.
I remember some sit-down interview they did with Diana and Bulldog right after his return where he talked about "not being able to get off the morphine". I wanna say the interview was WWF produced but I can't recall at the moment.
