The opposite of our other awesome thread. This is for matches that you weren't looking forward to or that you thought would suck, but ended up being good and surprising you.
Batista vs The Undertaker - I didn't think they would mesh well but they were amazing together every time out.
That's the main one that comes to mind. Thoughts?

I thought Wade Barrett and Randy Orton's feud in 2012 was very enjoyable, even though they seemed like polar opposites. Their styles seemed rather contrasting however, they ended up complimenting each other very well IMO.

Not really a classic, but Big E vs BNB from this years Extreme Rules was amazing imo and everything about it was good.

Undertaker vs Mankind - King of the Ring 1998 : this was like their 4th or 5th PPV match within 2 year's time,fans were bored of the feud already. factor in an overweight Foley, Undertaker with a broken ankle, and the specter of the last Hell in a Cell match,one of the best matches of all time, and expectations for this were mediocre at best. and we all know how it turned out!
Edge vs Mick Foley - WrestleMania 22 : a past his prime Foley vs a still finding his spot Edge in a hardcore match had the recipe for disaster written all over it. instead,we got a nice brutal match for the WWF in 2006!

Any match that Mick Foley had that actually ended up good or better.
Many of Sheamus' matches from 2012. The guy actually had a great match with Big Show.

Any match that Mick Foley had that actually ended up good or better. Many of Sheamus' matches from 2012. The guy actually had a great match with Big Show. You know, you're right. I totally forgot about Sheamus/Big Show. |

Sheamus vs Big Show at Hell in a Cell. '12 really surprised me with how good it was.
Kane & 'Takers feud in 2010 was better than I was expecting.
I didn't think CM Punk & John Morrison's matches in 2007 were gonna be good, but I was wrong.

I gotta go with Diesel vs. Razor Ramon from SummerSlam 94 on this one.
It was a very well done match, and just goes to show how great Vince, Pat and the rest of the agents are to build a match to make it look solid and great with no weaknesses whatsoever.
