When it comes to phones, I'm an iPhone guy all the way.. I had the iPhone 1 and it did great, then I got the iPhone 4 and it did fantastic.. It's been dropped and beaten and finally it cracked. Both sides. After 3 years of continuous drops. But I loved every moment of that phone.
Been rocking this old Samsung slider since late May. Excited to get the new iPhone 6 rumored to come out in September.
Not a fan of Galaxy tbh. The phone is plastic and I don't want my phone to look like my GameBoy..

I had several iPhones, and I just got the S5 a few months back.
While I like both, I do now prefer the Galaxy. The restrictions of the iPhone and having to use iTunes just became a little too much hassle.
If you like to tinker with and customize your phone, then the Galaxy is the way to go. If you don't want or need to do any customization, or transfer a lot of files, then the iPhone is perfect.

I personally like my iPhone much better. Samsung galaxy seems like I'm carrying around an iPad mini instead of a phone. I wish it had better battery though...

iPhone easily.
All these people rambling about specs... Specs are very overrated and do not tell the whole story. Sure, a lot of Android phones have higher RAM, etc... But it's all about the experience and reliability. PCs have infinitely higher specs and lower prices than Macs, yet the PC market is declining while Macs are growing at a very fast rate. I finally went Mac in 2011 and never looked back. My current iMac, which has lower specs in almost every area than my Alienware before it, runs just as well as the day I got it. It's so fluid and never crashes. Same goes for my iPhone. I had a Droid X a few years ago, and while it had higher specs than the iPhone 4 (the competitor at the time), it was buggy, laggy, and a neverending source of frustration. And nothing seems to have changed from the phones I see today. What are Android phones running now... Gingerbread? Ice Cream Sandwich? Or is that the Note running those? Or is it the Nexus? Oh wait is that discontinued? Oh wait am I confusing that with the Nexus cube? Wasn't ICS supposed to unite everything? I don't call less than 10% of the userbase running the same OS unified.
The point is don't be duped by specs. There's a lot more to consider. And for those who are so concerned about size, the iPhone is getting 2 bigger sizes this year. And before the next Fandroid comes in and says "Duuurrrp Droidz had big sizes yearrrs ago Apple slow har har," keep in mind that being first in the tech world doesn't mean much if the product is shabby. I'd rather wait for something to be done right than done halfassedly for the sake of quickness. Kinda like that Android watch and the 12 inch tablet Samsung rushed out in a panic because they thought Apple had one in the pipeline (LOL at Apple not releasing either one yet).
I know I know... Apple fanboooooii, isheeeeeep, etc etc. Those insults might have still been fresh if they weren't regurgitated on every Apple-centric article or discussion on every tech site and even non-tech everywhere. Don't believe me? Go to CNET. I challenge you. Click any Apple related article and I guarantee you there will be more butthurt apple haters than anything else in the comments section. Every time without fail.

There's a guy at work that has an iphone and we'll be talking and its a constant, "My iphone doesnt do that", "I cant do that on my iphone", "you cant do that with iphone"...Im just like Jesus what can you do with an iphone, just text and call? Its like the old Nokia 5180s. Im just waiting to catch him playing snake on it.

That's a no-brainer for me. Galaxy all the way. I have an iPod but I'm not really satisfied with it. That's why I went with a Samsung smartphone instead of an iPhone and I don't regret it.

Galaxy ALWAYS beats iPhone in performances.
I've recently got the S5, the phone is beast compared to the 5S.

Galaxy for me, as I love the use and functions of widgets. Aside from that, an iPhone wouldn't be a problem. I'd get used to it if I had to. I prefer the larger Galaxy phone, though I have and could again be happy using something a bit smaller. iPhone easily. I know I know... They're equally ridiculous.

People that are super loyal to a company driven by shareholders to make the largest profit possible are weird to me. Make a good product for a good price. I'll buy it. The quality or the price gets bad, then I won't. I'm as loyal as your current product.

This is a really stupid question, but on the galaxy S5 or galaxy products overall; what is their version of iTunes? Is it the google store thing or spotify?

I have had both, and currently have an iPhone. I only have an iPhone because I literally had no choice. The galaxy is way better. It's easier to use, it's faster, it's less money grubbing, and overall is just the better phone.

For android phones there is the Google "Play" store, which is the same as the apple store. You can actually just load the media on your device on a storage card and use several different media players to play your music. Google Play is their iTunes, and it isn't bad. One cool feature, is you can import your iTunes library into Google Play, and connect them together, so that anything you add to iTunes will automatically sync to Google Play. This is useful to me because my wife uses an iPhone still. And it imports your play lists.
