This is a really stupid question, but on the galaxy S5 or galaxy products overall; what is their version of iTunes? Is it the google store thing or spotify? For android phones there is the Google "Play" store, which is the same as the apple store. You can actually just load the media on your device on a storage card and use several different media players to play your music. Google Play is their iTunes, and it isn't bad. One cool feature, is you can import your iTunes library into Google Play, and connect them together, so that anything you add to iTunes will automatically sync to Google Play. This is useful to me because my wife uses an iPhone still. And it imports your play lists. And you can sign into your Google account anywhere, on any device, and your Google Play data will be available on demand. That's really handy at times. I don't know the merits of iTunes, but I know from years ago while having an iPod that I HATE the interface enough to never want to look at it again. It could be completely different by now for all I know though.

People that are super loyal to a company driven by shareholders to make the largest profit possible are weird to me. Make a good product for a good price. I'll buy it. The quality or the price gets bad, then I won't. I'm as loyal as your current product. The loyalty part is weird. I'm an iPhone guy because I've had on since 2010. I'm used to it. I don't customize my phone or anything. I've got friends who have the Galaxy and those seem perfectly fine as well. I'm just sticking to the one I'm used to and comfortable with.

I currently sell phones for a living. We probably sell android 3 to 1 vs iphone. And samsung 2 to 1. I personally have an S4 because I saw no need to spend the extra for an S5 when my phone has been very reliable. I may go to an iphone once they decide to play catch up with the bigger screen size.
I had an iphone 5s for about a week. It wasnt bad at all. I only had a few gripes. I couldnt get all the apps that my android had including a Walking Dead comic app that had all the issues for free. Apple would never let that be in the app store. The screen was tiny. The final straw came when i was using the ebay app to snipe an auction and with 5 seconds left an email notification came across the top and blocked the "bid" button. It would not disappear in time and thus i lost the auction for a very rare item.
Iphone market is huge in the US but not near as big as Samsung in the rest of the world. Subsidized pricing does not exist much outside the US and Apple does not give discounts very much. Samsung has taken the approach that they give discounts on their devices and claimed a large portion of the world market.
From what I am hearing dont expect Samsung to remain android too much longer. They are working on their own OS. Should be interesting.

Use an actual snipe app or website to be safe in those situations.

Someone was explaining Google Play, and I expanded upon it.

I'm surprised no one mentioned the Sony Xperia Z2...that's what I'm rocking right now and I like it, but I always end up going back to iPhones after a little while. The 6 should be nice.

Guys, it's all personal preference.
Yes, Galaxy S5 has a higher RAM, and the specs are higher as well but it doesn't translate into being super fast vs the iPhone. These two phones are not similar and are a case of the " apples to oranges" argument. BTW, I have an S4 but I used to have the iPhone 3GS before that.
The way iPhones run are smooth because it doesn't take too much power, hence why the specs seem to low quality compared to android phones. It's simply for the fact that it doesn't need much juice because the UI is very simple and efficient. Are there drawbacks? Sure, but almost every phone has pros and cons (all personal preference). The thing that I can't stand about the iPhone is that unless you jailbreak it (voiding all warranty immediately), customization is very limited. I have to go the Apple way or not, there's no other way around it. With that said, Apple does things very well like the iCloud, music, and clean interfaces. Some people complain about the iPhone not being able to remove batteries but while I have an S4, I really don't care for the battery. I charge mine every night and it never dies on me throughout the day. Another bullcrapthing about Apple is the storage issue. I think it's lame that people who have tons of pictures can't take anymore unless they delete pictures, or even worse, some people can't download the latest iOS update because they don't have enough storage.
I love Androids because it's basically a pocket computer. I love that I can put an Micro SD card into my phone to access/expand my storage when I want, how I want and where I want. I love the customization because the widgets are bomb and different launchers (Nova Launcher) can really make it a whole new experience for your phone. I love being able to move files and and making folders to organize my phone. If you like to tinker with your phone, Androids are the way to go. Some cons for Androids are that many phones begin to lag because some phones don't have enough RAM for the Android experience. That's why if you're gonna go the Android route, you need to go with a flagship phone like the Galaxy series or the HTC One. I also hate that I have to wait for carriers to OK the updates that Google puts out. Sometimes, it'll take months for them to release it, while once Apple puts an update out, everyone eligible receives it right away.
Go with what you like once you try both out. But like a few people said, if you want a smooth and simple experience, go with Apple but if you like to tinker and customize your phone by sacrificing some speed, Android is the way to go.
Good luck!
