Jakks' LOD Vs. Mattel's... Jakks Wins!

In fairness it is apples and ranges Jakks were a much cheaper product so of course mattel will have more detailing etc

Wrong! They're both filled with flaws. The best looking LOD figures are the ones from Hasbro.

I like Hawk's Jakks scan better than his Mattel sculpt, and I like Jakks shoulder pads better, too. Aside from that I gotta go with Mattel the rest of the way.

I'm primarily a Mattel collector, but I bought some Jakks a few years ago to fill out my collection. I'm happy to replace most of them with Mattels if we ever get them, but I do like my Jakks LOD. I also like Jakks Natural Disasters and Giant Gonzalez. I think they look great next to Mattels. The rest, like Lex Luger, Hollywood Hogan, Sid, etc. are just placeholders.

You say that Jakks LOD are better because they are accurate and then you say it's irrelevant that the body parts aren't accurate. Do you want to make up your mind if you want them accurate or not?

I tell you what... My Jakks LOD still beats the original Mattel Legends figures, but after seeing the new E30 LOD over in the Mattel forum... Wow! Those new ones are nice. Still waiting to get mine (tracking says next Wednesday... crap), but I said Mattel would have to do some work to make me like them better than Jakks', and it looks like they have. My main gripe with the Legends set was that Animal was just too small, but they really added some bulk to him. They look spectacular! I will be proud to own both sets no matter what. I must say though... Bravo Mattel! Thanks for making an aweosme set for this HUGE LOD fan!

Mattels new LOD look good, but why beast out Animal and not Hawk?

Mattel's wins hands down. I hated that Jakks kept giving their Road Warriors laced boots especially when they had Kane's boots or the tall kicker boots to choose from. Either pair of those boots were better choices. Giving a figure the wrong boots is one of my biggest pet peeves. That lack of detail ruins a figure for me. Always has and always will. And I have never passed on any Road Warriors figure. I even purchased that monstrosity that had Heidenreich packed with Animal. Jakks best Road Warriors was their IE set, but I hated the torso given to Hawk. (also wasnt't a fan of all his figure having the tongue out) Mattel's Legends series 1 were and will always be my favorite look for the Road Warrior, but I hated the arms given to Hawk. (I gave mine the larger ripped arms given to the new Elite Dolph and Rhodes figures) And he looks perfect now. Animal could have been bigger, but while he wasn't ripped he was solid (Although I always thought the Jakks torso was always more suited for Animal) The new Mattel figures are better than Jakks CSTT1 to me beacuse of the boots. I feel Animal's new brock torso/arms is just as good as Jakks so they are a wash. And Hawk's Triple H torso with Sheamus arms is just as good as Jakks HW torso and arms. (I wish he still used the Austin torso, but this one looks good on him) But to me the correct boots and Hawk's tongue being in his mouth give Mattel the edge.
