Were those Jakks Kane boot versions released or are those customs? I have never even paid attention to there being a variant at all. I still lean toward Jakks, but my Mettl E30 are supposed to show up tomorrow, so I can finally compare them and FINALLY pick my favorite. It seems like the more pics I see the bigger the new Hawk's head looks. Is it just me or is his head a little large?

The L1 & E30 are the same scans.

I prefer the headscans and shoulder pads from the Jakks figures.

Hawk's head is the same head as L1 just on a different torso. |

I prefer the Jakks version but theres no excuse for the laced boots especially when they had the right option , very strange by Jakks .

I like the Jakks shoulder pads better. Everything else, Mattel destroys them in a comparison.

While it's the same scan I like Animal's head better on the L1 NWA figure. But Jakks better on the WWE red and black figures.

OK... Work has been crazy, but I finally had time today to sit down and really go over both sets of figures. I am going to break my opinions down into various categories... Don't hate me. Headsculpts - Winner... Jakks Animal - I think the beard and facepaint looks better on the Legends Mattel figure than the Elite 30, but neither looks as good as the Jakks version. I also think that the facepaint on the E30 figure is just too small, it needs to cover more of his face. Hawk - I still like the "tongue out" headsculpt best... What can I say? Bodies - Mattel I like the new stocky build of the E30 Animal much more than the L1, so I am going to go with that one. Hawk looks good too, and the arms are much better sculpted than Jakks. I don't like the legs on any of them though! Attire - Tie! I prefer the boots on the Mattel figures (doesn't everybody?!), but the shoulder pads are all wrong. I like Jakks version with the longer spikes much better. Mattel's gauntlets are nice and add a lot to the figures, but I just can't overlook thos pads. Well, it loos like a tie. I guess I am going to just have to go on gut feeling alone and give the nod to the set that, when I look at them, just screams out "Legion of Doom... Road Warriors" to me, and that set is... Jakks! I guess it may be nostalgia more than anything else, but I have to go with Jakks. I remember growing up and the only LOD figures Ihad were those old Remco He-man looking figures and the Hasbro set. I never got into the charicature Hasbro figures with their weird proportions, so I never even had those! I can think back to the day I found the Tag Team Series 1 LOD set at a TRU in Spartanburg, SC! I didn't even know they were coming out, so when I went to the figure aisle to search the WWE pegs for even more Stone Cold figures, I saw them... In their glorious red and black outfits! Hawk's tongue hanging out like he had just finished some unfollowable rant on the mic ending with..." What a Rush!" My mind boggled at the sight of them as I mentally compared them to my Remco set! They were the greatest figuresI had ever seen! I even remember having to rip them open in the car because they were such a spectacle of Mad max inspired beauty! Like I said, I suppose nostalgia has a lot to do with my choice for Jakks' version. Going through a relgious experience finding toys in a store always beats out preordering from some website and waiting and waiting for them to show up. The thrill of finding something in the wild. The thrill of the hunt! Let the hate begin!!....  |

BTW... The old school Road warriors at the bottom... The Animal with the yellow facepaint... I'd trade my first born for that! just sayin'... |

I still prefer Jakks' version. Hawk's tongue sticking out is awesome cos that's what he did in promo pics and backstage promos.
