Late 90's Shawn Michaels was incredible with promos, very underrated......
2011 Punk was probably the greatest series of promos ever, just the honesty and delivery were unbelievable. Cena and HHH couldn't keep up with him in those promos, he annihilated them.

Currently its Heyman but from the past it is Piper. Heyman as a 3 DVD set that has 2 discs of promos and Piper's DVD set had a disc of promos. Those two alone could build a feud through words alone. Jericho, Rock, Austin and Savage all had to back up their words with actions.

I also think that Edge was awesome on the mic. He could be hilarious, a freaking lunatic or just plain offensive. Actually quite underrated.

"HAVE YOU EVER SEEN AN ANVIL DROP (pause) ON SOMEONE'S HEAD?! BLOP!" If people want to see/hear good promos, just watch the Thunder rants. They're classics.

Rock Jericho Cena Punk Stone Cold Heyman
And at this rate if they keep it up Bray Wyatt and Dean Ambrose could be on that list soon.

Of all time? That easy... Jake Roberts. It really isn't even a contest. Jake was phenomenal, and I respect that you guys are a little more old school minded, but I personally think Cactus Jack and Raven came along and did Jake better than Jake. Jake was the innovator, no doubt he's the Ramones, but Raven was The Clash and Foley was Green Day. Some people think the Ramones are still the best, others think the very bands they inspired did it just a little bit better. Nobody is wrong imo. The fact that Jake is still inspiring guys like Ambrose and Bray Wyatt to this very day speaks volumes about his promo style. Jake was an all around innovator imo. I always say nothing replaces place and time. For me 1997 HBK was easily one of the best heels I've ever seen and 100% the best tween in WWE history for me. Why? Because I had never seen anything like that before with those antics. Which is pretty hilarious because Bret did the anti-American tween gimmick at nearly the exact same time and I still believe it was the absolute apex of both of their careers, at least from a character and entertainment standpoint. Have other guys come along and been better, maybe, but for me in that 1997 vacuum, nothing will surpass my feelings of getting to see them perform at that level live every Monday. So I think that's always something to consider with the internet, is that we all grew up during various years of wrestling and what we saw of a guy on video or later in their career, in the case of guys like Jake and Flair for me since I didn't start seeing them until the early 90s, aren't necessarily reflective of how good they were for their time and place to other fans. It's like the Baseball HOF, you have to consider how good a guy was for his era because of the way the game has evolved.
