If you want the wrestling product improved you have to change the way Smackdown is written. Seriously. I hate for this post to sound like another "fire the writers" post, but they need to quit making Smackdown essentially 'Raw Replay'

As long as Smackdown is making money (which it does, lots), then no, it's not time to end it. As far as keeping the shows fresh, that's an issue for creative. They managed to write decent stuff for both shows in 1999-2002. There's no real reason that Smackdown or Raw have to be filled with the same rematches over and over, just WWE at the moment likes to do things that way instead of writing stories. /discussion

SmackDown has become a nuisance in recent times. It lacks being different from RAW since they took away the exclusive referee shirts and no longer having Teddy Long being the GM

The end of the brand split killed Smackdown.IMO For the most part, yes. Having it as it's own entity still kept it alive. Having it's own angles and storylines helped make it different. Now that it's just a RAW recap, with no major storyline progression... it's useless and irrelevant.

I'd like to do split brand live tapings, then move SD to 3 hours. But, maybe that's just me. As it stands now, I rarely tune into SD an always tune into RAW. I think moving it to Thursday nights could help. Smackdown should never move to 3 hours. They can't get enough fresh content on there to fill 2 hours as it is now. Smackdown doesn't need to go away, it just needs to be treated as a show thats on a level just below Raw, not a show 4 levels down sharing equality with shows like Main Event. Raw should be the A show, SD the B show, Main Event and NXT the C shows, and Superstars the D show. They just need to start saving some quality moments for SD, ever since the brand split ended it just hasnt done well. At least before even when we were getting Sheamus/Big Show/Del Rio, we were getting unique stories that weren't on Raw and vice versa. In case you didn't know... it basically is 3 hours because Main Event frequently is taped right before it and they just switch the signs. So the amount of content is not really an issue, it's just the fact that no one cares about it because nothing that noteworthy ever happens.

SmacksDowns theme is the best theme currently in wrestling.
Maybe second to Minori Suzuki.

Its not the amount of content that is in question, its the quality of content that is the issue, and thats why I'm saying it shouldnt be 3 hours. Just because you can give us week after week of 3 hours of Sheamus vs. Del Rio doesnt mean that you should. But that seemed to be what they had been doing anyways.

WWE should have a draft, but make both brands even like they were originally.

I think some people on the roster would get even less TV time if Smackdown ended.

I don't watch it anymore, but I'm sure lots of people do, so let them have it.

I don't mind it, it's a pretty quick watch on DVR. But it is so full of recaps and rematches that it just feels redundant.

It honestly really befuddles me that wrestling fans would want LESS wrestling to watch. Sure, there's always improvements to the show that could be made to make it better, but it's been like that since WWE started, and was like that when Raw was only 2 hours, and would continue to be like that if they went back to that.
I, personally, like 3 hours of Raw and 2 hours of Smackdown and an hour of Main Event. It not only gives me more wrestling to watch, but it gives more guys a chance to be on TV and be in segments and be in storylines and develop and gives us more matches and gives us longer matches and gives us more storylines and gives us more wrestlers and gives WWE more money, which WWE seems to sorely need right now. Are there repeat matches? Sure, when you're doing 168 TV shows and PPVs a year and only so many guys and girls on the roster, that's gonna happen no matter how hard you try, and I personally don't care as long as the matches are entertaining, and there would still be repeating matches even if you axed Smackdown and made Raw two hours again.
Even if I didn't like it and felt it should be slimmed down, there's just no way WWE or USA/SyFy would, because it gives them more money, and they're not gonna say no to money.

In my opinion, it would make the product better and more fresh, overall. Allows for feuds to not get stale as quickly and doesn't allow 7 rematches to occur in a 3-month span. I know there's been rumors of SmackDown moving to Thursday nights and them no longer having SmackDown is all but never going to happen... what're your thoughts? I hope not, but ever since the end of WWE Brand Extension, SmackDown was seen as an extended version of WWE Superstars while RAW was treated like royalty. Heck, even WWE Main Event has been getting plenty of attention as of late IMO.

Well, the main reason they've been pushing Main Event like hell is because it's on the WWE Network and they want people to get the Network and watch it, so it makes sense.
