The only thing that I think could really save SmackDown is enforcing the brand split again. Split the Titles, except for Tag Team and Divas, no way one brand will have one and not the other. Maybe make it live on a Thursday or at least try with the brand, not random matches that always come off boring as hell.

They just need to bring back the brand split. With two champions. Again. It worked the first time.

I honestly haven't watched a full episode of smackdown in a long time. I just watch clips on youtube when something happens I want to see. I can't justify staying home on a Friday night for it.

Smackdown was great when they had the brand split because you had to watch it if you wanted to see guys like Kurt Angle, Undertaker, and Edge. Now Smackdown is just rematches from Raw or previous Smackdowns. I would also be more likely to watch it more if it was live because I think they would put more into it. Also you couldn't just go to any wrestling website and have it spoiled for you. After looking at the spoilers you know what is going to happen so you could read that and watch Raw and know everything that's going on like you didn't miss any of it. Smackdown is an example of how the internet hurts the product. Why watch Smackdown when you can read about it in 5 minutes. If it was live more people would just watch it because it would be fresh to them. You can tell the difference between live and taped. Even taped Raws seem to be missing something when you watch them and that's not looking at spoilers.

I don't see it ending anytime soon, but if it were up to me, I'd end Smackdown. Ever since RAW went three hours, I don't see the point of having Smackdown. I would feel different if we didn't also have Main Event and Superstars and the matches that happen on those shows could easily be put on Smackdown. I get why Smackdown is still around, but I'd prefer not to happen. Maybe if they build more midcard feuds on Smackdown, then maybe I could see the point of keeping Smackdown other than more advertising money.

Its useless. It doesn't serve any purpose in the storylines or progression in general.

To fix Smack down, I'd put it back on Thursday night. Put Regal on commentary with Booker T. Limit Raw replays to a couple of minutes. I'd make the IC title the focal point of the show and let guys like Ziggler and Ambrose have great matches every week where that belt would mean something again and that show would have a real purpose.

It still gets good ratings and makes them money, so dropping it for no reason would be stupid.

And how much money would that cost them and how many more budget cuts would that lead to? Its not worth it just because a few people don't want to watch a show and would rather cancel it than just not watch it.

I clearly said the chances of it being cancelled are just about non-existent. This thread was made to discuss the hypothetical choice to end SmackDown... pro's and con's. There's definitely logical reasons for both in this situation.
