To compete with NXT on the Network? Genius idea. Cause they can't move shows on their own network... That's assuming they want to move NXT at all.

I don't watch it anymore. I always will favor Raw over Smackdown. but even when it was still (kinda) burning bright in 2007, i still favored Raw of Smackdown. (and they had Taker/Kane on that show...two of my favorites) I would have a problem understanding anyone who would still advocate that smack down is the #1 show. I never was in favor of the brand split back in 2002. I went with it and saw it fail slowly. I agree with others who said it would save them money. However, if they decide to end it, they should go out like a bang. Ya know, have the past highlight Smack Down stars come out, and have THE ROCK be one of the stars to end the show. (pay homage to "The Rock's show" catchphrase)
I think continued brand split ruins the title picture in a way because there are too many. I liked how there would be ONE world title. I had subtle objectivity in 2000 when WWE had show after show after show, but it seemed cool at the time. Now it's not working. I liked it when WWE had 3 shows: Raw, LiveWire and Superstars. Then they added "Sunday Night Heat" and it was still cool. The "Main Event" show returning, I don't see the point of either, but it's whatever.
They should end SD and use the money for NXT, putting that show in it's place if they REALLY want to let new starts shine. Or they could return "In Your House" which could decrease the number of official PPV's they have. I'd like to see that rather than finding out about belt changes or storyline squashes during untelevised house shows. (wasn't that what "In Your House" was all about?)
Just my ideas and perspective on the subject.

I see where you're coming from. I remember back in the early 2000s when I used to look forward more to SD than Raw. Now, I barely watch SD.

I hate watching SmackDown and then seeing the same match repeated on the next Raw as if it never happened.

The problem is that it should only be 2 hours. I can't even remember the last time I felt it was important to watch a Smackdown either. I seem to find that I can watch Raw every week, and everything that happened on Smackdown wouldn't even have an effect on the proceedings of Raw. I don't even need to watch it.

This is me. Right now. Reading this thread.

That's what sparked the idea of this thread. I don't watch SmackDown, but haven't missed a single important thing in any feud. If there's a match to progress a storyline, they have a rematch on RAW that following Monday. SmackDown is completely pointless, at this point.
