Whatever happens, can we please just have Danielle Harris on the screen at all times wearing stuff like this?? Her couch scene was the only redeeming factor of the Halloween remake. haha. Little known fact: I've been shirtless in front of Danielle Harris before. I was set up to interview her at Scarefest a few years ago. We were doing interviews for Scarefest as well as my old site Benevolent Street. When we were doing interviews for Bstreet, we had the backdrop draped in bstreet shirts. When we were doing Scarefest interviews we had the background draped in Scarefest shirts. I was standing in the little interview room trying to find a corner to switch my own shirt so I could hand it on the backdrop. She was just like "pffftt. Go ahead and change right here. I don't care". So I went for it. She giggled. Either way, she is gorgeous in person. Here I am being awkward next to her and Dee Wallace while being photo bombed by Doug Bradley. When Danielle Harris touches your hand...you become awkward...

What are your thoughts on a Mentally intellectually- disabled Jason being able to mastermind an underground network or tunnels and rooms? Or his ability to set up traps? My first summer job was for a gent down in FL, doing roofing, etc...we had a mentally intellectually- disabled dude named Dusty who worked on the crew. Pound for pound one of the top 5 strongest people I've ever known. He would haul multiple bundles of shingles up to the roof on his own, with no help, repeatedly. He had no off switch, either. We had to make him take a break. It was damn near super-human. Mentally handicapped folks tend to not be able to grasp the concept of restraint, therefore when they exert force, they exert it in a preternatural way. I think most all of us have heard these stories, or witnessed it at some point...couple this with no moral compass at all, a violent temperament, and no concept of physical exhaustion -- you have Jason. The hunting/traps...Jason was what? 6-9 years old when he 'died'? More than old enough to be taught the basics of hunting, knot tying, booby traps, etc...a lot of mentally handicapped folks tend to 'Rain Man' something, and they specialize in that one particular skill. Perhaps Jason took extremely well to survival stuff/hunting, etc, as a child? I mean, it's basically stuff the Boy Scouts may teach ya... I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility. Convenient? Absolutely, but -- not out of the question. The tunneling -- while I felt that entire aspect was pointless, it's not exactly a mastermind required to dig a hole, or bunch of holes. Just someone with a whole bunch of time. Which he had. Reverting back to that 'mentally intellectually- disabled people learn certain things really well' -- being a kid, his age range would have been around Vietnam. There were definitely stories about the Vietcong tunneling etc...again, convenient -- not impossible. I think there is a difference. The tunnels in the movie were big and had lighting as well as a chime system so that he would be alerted when someone would be near. I think it was way too many coincidences to be possible. It might be possible to dig a hole, it might be possible to set up traps, it might be possible for a lot of things, but in the movie it all happens. For me I just thought it was too far fetched. No where in the original films did Jason have booby traps. We only ever see a shed which was never confirmed as Jason's home in the original films. There was the beauty of the first films. It was like Jason had a censor in his head that would go off when ever teens were being romantic that would drive Jason to kill. He was, in a way, avenging his own traumatic drowning as a child. In the new film he just kills for the sake of killing. The booby traps tell me Jason kills as sport.

I'm just saying most of them are plausible. But here, they're asking us to believe that every single one is. In that regard, I agree. It's hard to believe. I still don't think ANY of the remakes have come close to touching the Texas Chainsaw Remake, though. I still think it's been the best, overall. And House on Haunted Hill, which was what basically STARTED the remake era, is still one of the most entertaining.

Can say I've seen the Haunted Hill remake. Or if I did I dont remember, it doesnt ring a bell.

I was referring specifically to the Biel one, but overall I think the remakes have done the most justice to Leatherface. Freddy's gotten the most screwed. I LOVED Jackie Earle Haley in the role, but -- the tim was just rough, to say the least. House on Haunted Hill was back in -- 99? Chris Katan, Taye Diggs, Ali Larter, Famke Janssen, and Geoffrey Rush in Vincent Price's role from the original. T'was damn fine, in my opinion.

It hasn't held up well but -- we've come a LONG way in 15 years...a very long way. Dawn of the Dead was an exceptional remake, as well. If you're going to remake something, and put your own flare on it, as opposed to pay homage to the soul of the original -- that's how you do it.

True that, and Chris Kattan was absolutely perfect in that flick. They could have built an entire franchise around his character, but noooooooo -- this was Hollywood pre-churn out a movie a year franchise...gawww. Not too mention the ENTIRE cast was stacked. I would love to see a Vincent Price biopic with Geoffrey Rush starring. I feel like maybe he's a bit too old now but -- at the time...damn.

Famke in great form as Uber bitch.....Rush was spot on too. It often shows on TCM over here.....I must catch it again soon. I always find it entertaining. Also agreed about Kattan. He is a guy that always seems to get pissed on non stop....but he has always been entertaining to me.

Night of the Living Dead 1990 is my all time favorite remake.
Others I have liked are TCM 2003, Dawn of the Dead, Friday the 13th (yep...I liked it), The Crazies, Evil Dead, Let Me In, Last House on the Left, Hills Have Eyes, My Bloody Valentine, and The Blob

He did a great job playing the role he had -- it's just that, at this point, the dude's Dean Winchester, lol. The only role I want to see him in outside of Supernatural, now, is the Ghost Rider reboot as Johnny Blaze.

I watched THHE remake not long ago and was enjoying it until that rape scene. It was just too much. I still don't get why NMOS remake gets hate. I love it. And I love that Dawn of the Dead remake too, easily one of my favorite horrors.
