2003 Texas Chainsaw Massacre Dawn Of The Dead When a Stranger Calls Nightmare On Elm Street The Hills Have Eyes 1 & 2 House On Haunted Hill(aside from some dodgy CGI) The best horror remakes IMO. That is oddly my exact list. Although i love the Halloween remakes because i view them more as a re-imagining than a remake.

Night of the Living Dead 1990 is my all time favorite remake. Others I have liked are TCM 2003, Dawn of the Dead, Friday the 13th (yep...I liked it), The Crazies, Evil Dead, Let Me In, Last House on the Left, Hills Have Eyes, My Bloody Valentine, and The Blob Dean Winchester in MBV's remake totally took me out of it. He did a great job playing the role he had -- it's just that, at this point, the dude's Dean Winchester, lol. The only role I want to see him in outside of Supernatural, now, is the Ghost Rider reboot as Johnny Blaze. haha I could see something like that happening. I've never watched Supernatural so it had no effect on me. I thought it was a fun flick. One example of that happening with me was the first time I ever saw the original Prom Night. I grew up a fan of the Naked Gun Flicks. Having not seen Prom Night until after I had saw all of those films, it blew my mind to see Leslie Nielsen in a serious role. I still ended up enjoying the movie, but it was just weird.

Am I the only one that actually likes Halloween III? No, it isn't Michael Myers, but its a GOOD movie and something a bit different. The idea of Halloween being an anthology series is actually great and would have prevented things like Halloween 4 - 6 (5 and 6 in particular). I understand the confusion with the first TWO films having Myers, but I still think an anthology would have been the right way to go.

I don't know why but I really like the final shot in the first Rob Zombie Halloween when Laurie shoots Michael point blank and she's screaming with blood covering her face. Watching it gives me goosebumps but I just think it's so good.
I'd welcome more Halloween movies as I've always been a fan of the franchise. With that said, I don't know how much I'd enjoy more Zombie made movies. I too didn't think much of the last Halloween movie and do agree with some of the criticisms made on the remakes.
Several members mentioned other remakes, and my god I was obsessed with the Texas Chainsaw Massacre one when it first came out. I was in middle school and I just remember doing research on it because it was inspired by true events and what not. Still one of my favorites to this day.
and also here's a fun fact for you guys, apparently Jason Vorhees from the Friday the 13th Remake exists in the same universe as Transformers. The character of Trent, played by Travis Van Winkle, is the same in the remake and the first transformers movie. I like finding out little things like these, they are pretty cool.

screenrant.com/halloween-3d-development/I'm not big on Lussier, but -- I'd damn near do anything to Direct a Halloween flick. If they wanted to keep Zombie's Universe going, I'd reveal that Harris' character never died, and follow her, rather than Laurie, who was put in Witness Protection after 2. Michael comes looking for Harris, in an effort to find Laurie, but Harris was stuck in an asylum to help her work through her issues. Set the entire thing in an asylum. Rain storm. Bring back the high-contrast look, and tension from the first couple -- really play with the shadows in the building. I think Myers in an asylum setting like that, would be as awesome as a Ft13th movie set during the winter.

I have seen both Hitchers and I enjoyed the remake- I thought it was a pretty good stab at it. However in terms of creepiness and tension? The original(in no small part to Hauers portrayal)was a good deal better.

I'm a big Sean Bean fan so that definitely helps me enjoy the remake quite a bit. I've also only ever seen the remake of the Wicker Man lol.

The Wicker Man bares hardly any resemblance to the original IMO. the bare bones of similarity are there...but quite frankly it hasn't a patch on the creepy bleak atmosphere of the original starring Edward Woodward & Christopher Lee. There's "paganism" and an island in the WM remake.....but they arent anything like the PAGANISM and the island of the original. The Scottish island in the 70s lent itself to isolation much better than modern times too.

The only upside was Nielson and Curtis.

The first one was creepy. This was -- corny -- at times. Don't get me wrong, it takes a LOT to hate a Nic Cage flick. I'm always on board with Cage, man. But -- this one was rough.

Zombie is trash and ruined the Halloween series. Yes the series needed a reboot but zombie inserted his white trash crap, constant swearing, little character development, and pointless deaths and gore into a series that was known for none of that. The farther he is away from this series the better. His second Halloween movie was one of the worst movies I ha e ever seen. After rewartching the entire series (Blu Ray box set, a glorious thing) I can say that no, Zombie didn't ruin Halloween. Halloween 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 are all bad. Seriously. 5, 6 and 8 are terrible. The first two are brilliant to this day, some of the best of their kind. But the franchise fell apart after that with no real direction. "New angle! No Michael! Different story every time!" *movie bombs* "Bring back Michael! To hell with artistic integrity!" Rob Zombie's H2 is one of the biggest pieces of sh*t I've ever seen, and his original is alright at best, but yea, Halloween as a franchise sucked before he came on. And this is coming from a big fan.
