MK2 is my favorite game in the series so for most characters I want their MK2 look, the only exceptions are MK3 Jax, and MK1 Shang Tsung - I definetely want the old man version by far. Ideally packed with a Masked Guard. Not really bothered about other versions of Shang Tsung, though if they did a MK2 version packed with a Shadow Priest I would definetely buy multiples since they are really high on my wishlist. And if they did a flashback pre-MK1 Shang Tsung (from the MK1 mailaway comic) and packed it with The Great Kung Lao, that would get my money too. I'm really hoping Shang Tsung being a boss character would warrant Storm including a bonus figure, though I suppose they might go for his MK1 throne instead, which while certainly a cool idea would not be something I'd use personally. Shang is one of those characters where I would absolutely want an old man final boss version and a young version. I’m hoping with Liu Kang coming soon and Kano being announced, we’ll hear about Shang sooner than later. A bonus throne would be cool for an MK1 version, and I’d also love seeing translucent skulls for his projectiles. They have the skeletons already so it’d be easy. Hell, if they packed in a green “soul steal” skeleton like they did with Motaro, that’d be a highlight for me. Despite his importance and popularity Shang Tsung always gets neglected by toy lines which puzzles me. I remember back in the 90's Infinite Concepts made an MK2 version which was kinda bland so I've no desire to see that look again. MK1 Shang is a must and long overdue, I would love him in cloth robes, it would make the figure even more richer. If they ever do a young version I would have to go with MK3.

That's the Barakka I wish they released first go 'round but I'll definitely still take it now. I'll pass on Spawn, I'm happy with the one I've got.

That Nightwolf is so awesome that if he'd been released first, it probably would have gotten me to buy in to the entire line.

Anyone add guest characters to their line up? I've always loved a good cross over and luckily the McFarlane line scales close to NECA figures. Still would like to add Terminator, Robocop, Rambo, Kratos and Predator for sure.

Isn’t McFarlane making the Mortal Kombat figures? I know he released the Mortal Kombat Joker.

Definitely regretting skipping out on the first Scorpion and Sub-Zero releases by McFarlane. Can't find the pair anywhere for a decent price. I shouldn't even be surprised they shot up that much but I remember seeing them everywhere!

I shouldn't even be surprised they shot up that much but I remember seeing them everywhere! I picked up the Scorpion years ago but never got around to getting Sub Zero. I'm kicking myself. I'm honestly surprised at how deep the McFarlane line is getting. I was thinking it would stop after the usual guys were made.

They did a great job with Liu Kang. The figure looks MUCH nicer than the original prototype from a few years back, and the fact he still comes with the dragon makes this a must have. Can't wait for this one. If he doesn't have weapons, I've got an extra pair of movie TMNT Foot Ninja nunchakus he can rock.

Liu Kang is up for pre-order. Awesome figure and all, but 180 dollars? What in the actual ? Two fully detailed articulated figures’ll drive the price up. Personally I’d have been fine with a lower price if they did the Dragon like Shao Kahn’s throne, as just a standing accessory and not a whole figure. Either way, it looks great.

spamS finally has Kintaro in stock. Honestly I always preferred him over Goro. Don’t get me wrong Goro is OG and awesome. But Mortal Kombat 2 is my favorite and I don’t know I feel like Kintaro is just an upgrade in every way. EDIT: Wow… okay. A really bad store that is big and sells toys has Kintaro in stock.Never understood why those letters get turned into "spam" either, but here we are. And yeah, I got my ship notice for Kintaro from Big Bad. About 140ish when it was all said and done, definitely hurt but I only have to do it once. And yeah, he's a definite upgrade over Goro in terms of engineering and articulation. I'm hyped to get him in.

From SDCC. MK3 Sheeva, Kabal, Nightwolf, and MK9 Shao Kahn. These are looking great, three brand new characters and a new version of a highly sought-after one from a few years back. Can't wait. (inb4 "where's Kitana/Mileena, Storm takes forever," etc)

Wow what a showing, considering at these kind of events we're often lucky to see one new Storm MK figure. Gives us hardcore fans hope that maybe, one day, we might finally get a complete-ish roster of the classic MK characters in figure form, for once, instead of the usual pattern of Scorpion, Sub-Zero, a couple others... and then the line gets cancelled.
Great to see MK2 Kitana again, that leaves only MK2 Mileena and MK1 Johnny Cage still missing in action after prototypes were shown years ago. I'm almost positive the reasons for these delays were actor likeness issues, and unfortunately it seems Storm is not willing to pay for licensing rights, which is pretty ridiculous considering the price point of these figures, but at least by making the faces more generic we can still get these characters.
Kitana looks great, possibly a little chunky in the torso but only a minor quibble for me. Really hope she comes with an unmasked head, I will definetely be buying multiples of this figure to make customs of other female ninjas. Interestingly after comparing to the old prototypes, I believe this is a completely new sculpt.
Kano looks very good, though I think a little oversized, which is a problem I've noticed before with this line, Storm really needs to get their scale consistent (and by that I mean bring the scale back down to fit in with the previous figures which us collectors have already invested a huge amount of money in).
Kabal looks great, can't see any issues here. Nightwolf is making him look too small but I believe he is the problem here, not Kabal.
Sheeva generally looks good, but the head/face seems quite far away from the original MK3 maquette. Even if they're going for something more generic, for me it looks too human, too attractive. Not a huge deal but at this point I'm not feeling it. Everything else is fine.
Nightwolf, hmmm... not sure about this at all. Looks too tall and too wide, even the hairstyle looks wrong, other than the costume this really does not look anything like classic MK3 Nightwolf. More like T Hawk from Street Fighter. Really hope this gets some major revisions.
Noob Saibot - happy this is coming for people who want it and ninjas always bring in plenty of profits, but personally I'll stick with my MK1/MK2 version, I really don't like Storm's MK3 ninja sculpt, its oversized and inaccurate, and looks awful in my opinion.
I'm only interested in Classic MK so won't comment specifically on the MK9 Shao Kahn, but as I've said before I would strongly prefer that Storm concentrate solely on the older games, they already spread themselves way too thin and releases are very few and far between. DC Direct/DC Collectibles made this mistake with their Batman Animated line, constantly getting distracted doing spinoff lines and even characters who weren't in the cartoon, which resulted in them running out of time, and now the original Animated line is left forever incomplete, whereas if they'd just focused a bit more we could have had the remaining 15-20 important Animated characters and actually finish with a pretty comprehensive roster. Don't want to see something similar happen with Storm's Classic MK line.
