If they're making a version of Shao Kahn that was way after the original Trilogy I would love an Mk4 Quan Chi. By far one of my favourite looks of his.
I really can't wait for Sheeva, I remember the time I saw a video of the stop motion figure they used for the games and it looked awesome. Hopefully Storm nail it.

MK4 Quan Chi would be a VERY welcome addition. I don't mind them going for some later designs, in this case Shao Kahn in MK9 was very similar looking to his early appearances. Plus the inclusion of the newer model throne means anyone who missed the first release won't be missing a central accessory.

Kitana looks great, possibly a little chunky in the torso but only a minor quibble for me. Really hope she comes with an unmasked head, I will definetely be buying multiples of this figure to make customs of other female ninjas. Interestingly after comparing to the old prototypes, I believe this is a completely new sculpt. You're probably right. Not surprising, if you go back and look at the earliest versions of Sub-Zero and Scorpion from the early days of this line, they look VERY different to the figures we eventually got. Same with the Liu Kang prototype vs. final figure coming out. They do a lot of engineering and tooling between shows, it seems.

Same with the Liu Kang prototype vs. final figure coming out. They do a lot of engineering and tooling between shows, it seems. Yeh I remember the first prototype ninja sculpt (shown in 2015 I think) with a crosshatch pattern etched into the sash. I still thought it looked good though. The original Liu Kang sculpt was garbage, too skinny, super bland face and poor detailing all around, really glad they redid it, it looks great now. I wish they'd made improvements to Kung Lao and Raiden though, they came out quite good but by no means great, they look a bit cartoony in the face, overly chunky and puffy in the body/clothing, and cheap-looking paint. On the topic of bad paint, Sektor's wishy washy metallic red looks awful (particularly on the soft plastic parts) and the original ninja Smoke being painted metallic silver instead of grey was a ridiculous choice and totally inaccurate. I would still class the MK3 ninja as the absolute worst product in this line though, it's so inaccurate in the details, overly chunky, and generally oversized and cartoony looking. So unfortunately these problems don't always get fixed. Still these signs of clear tweaking in some of the figures (Liu Kang, Kitana) is a good sign, shows at least some of the people at Storm have real passion and care about making the best product they can.

I don't really mind the UMK3 ninja mold. I would prefer the original mold but I missed out on all of those figures and at this point I just want the consistency.

I wonder if that bloody Kintaro from SDCC will be available from anywhere else. I would think it would, but not certain. I kinda want it. I have special edition Goro and it looks so good MOC. Keep an eye on Big Bad. They had the bloody Kung Lao and Motaro from last year after the con, they might get Kintaro in stock. I don't really mind the UMK3 ninja mold. I would prefer the original mold but I missed out on all of those figures and at this point I just want the consistency. The UMK3 figures are probably the worst in the line, but even saying that? They’re still great figures. Yeah, there are some inaccuracies in the costume design, but they make up for it by being so much better engineered than the versions on the V1 ninja mold. Honestly, I think the best one we’ve got is the MK11 Klassic Scorpion. It’s essentially the MKII costume on a better body with less QC issues. I’m looking forward to the Sub-Zero that’s coming out on that body with the light blue costume and the scar on his eye.

Reptile is slightly improved with the new mask mold. But still, the GI forming a triangle at the waist is all wrong and they just have a cartoony look to them as Assassin said. That being said, I completely understand going with them versus the OG ones because the OGs have gotten prohibitively expensive. Although, the UMK3 Sub-Zero is starting to climb up there. The OG ones are also notorious for QC issues, especially the wrists. You should check out Jazzwares 3 inch Mk3 ninjas. They were perfect.

Hard disagree with MK11 Scorpion. The GI is an eyesore. Almost as bad as his Donkey Kong sized arms. Ironically enough, the 1/6 MK11 Scorpion is too skinny. Go figure… Out of box, it looks a little strange in a vanilla stance. As soon as you pose the figure, he looks great IMO

Seeing this makes me sad Storm never thought of making a MK1/MK2 style Reptile variant like this: news.toyark.com/2022/08/11/spams-exclusive-thundercats-ultimates-invisible-tygra-480647Looks so cool. I'd have bought an extra to make a custom Chameleon using some rainbow color washing. I know people will say maybe they'll do it in future, but I would only want it done in their original MK1/MK2 ninja style, and they've clearly retired that mold. And custom casting would be way, way too complicated.

Off topic I would also like a silver cyborg Smoke, he was sometimes silver in artwork and media. It could also be used as an ordinary Cyborg Ninja.

Kind of random, but is there a Storm Collectibles Streetfighter thread here? I'm trying to figure out why we haven't gotten a Vega yet? He's my absolute favorite street fighter character.

I’m sure it’s coming. They JUST showed a preview of Blanka at SDCC. You would think he would have been made asap. Storm is also taking up so many different video game licenses that their devotion to specific games is going to to be spread thinner and thinner. I really hope so, he's one of their most popular characters. Not to mention, there's a lot of cool accessories they could make for him. Just odd we get a lot of other characters and not one yet.

I don't think there's an official SF thread, but I like what Storm has done and I'd love to add Vega to the lineup. Especially since we've already got Sagat and Bison, and Balrog is on the way soon. Cheap plug for my stop motion - Speaking of, I wonder which direction they'd go? I'd hope for them continuing their Ultra SFII line for a classic Vega, since the SFV line is probably a little outdated now that SF6 is coming soon. But I'm excited to see what happens next, regardless.

Can't wait for this, MK1 Shang Tsung is one of my top wants, not really bothered about any other version of him. That said, I was really hoping the accessory would be a Masked Guard or a Shadow Priest, rather than a throne.

MK9 Shao Kahn is looking great. Smart on their part too, since the klassic version is going for a lot on the secondary market, and his MK9 look is very similar to the original. Plus someone like me will buy it because I need it haha. It'll be cool to have one Kahn in the throne and another Kahn fighting someone.

Check your GameStops. A lot of figures on clearance and they’re running 50% off the clearance price. Got the McFarlane Nightwolf for $8.99, really good deal.
