Check your GameStops. A lot of figures on clearance and they’re running 50% off the clearance price. Got the McFarlane Nightwolf for $8.99, really good deal. I got Nightwolf and Baraka there a couple weeks ago. From what I've been told, all Gamestops are getting clearance items in every couple of days shipped from the Gamestop warehouses (from the online store). I grabbed a bunch of stuff from my local GS that they never even had before. Some of the stuff they have is a great deal.

You think so? I think he’ll match up aesthetically, at least with newer figures like Liu Kang, Kung Lao, etc. I think the vest might be making him look bulky, similar to their Street Fighter figures with loose clothing over the torso. I could be way off though

I know Kitana should come first but I would love Sheeva to get released next. It would complete the Shokan.

Yeah, I was thinking about getting this but it isn’t different enough from the original one for me. If it was all black pants like MK1, I would have got it. The accessories are amazing, though. MKX Goro is up for preorder on Big Bad, he’s 105 which is lower than I expected considering the price for the last Goro and Kintaro. But this one doesn’t come with accessories, so keeping the price down might have been what their goal was for that reason.

Apparently McFarlane no longer have the licence for the Mortal Kombat 11 line.
Not surprised with Mk 12 coming soon but I thought their line was awesome and full of detail. I just wish more of the roster had been made.
I suppose whoever picks up the Mk12 line will as usual make Scorpion, Sub Zero & Raiden before they even consider the rest of the roster.

Didn’t hear about that. Kind of a bummer, while I don’t think they were ALL great figures, Todd did some really nice ones in the MK11 line. Kitana, Johnny Cage, and Noob Saibot are all standouts for me.

Do you happen to have the source for this? I've been digging and haven't found any specific info!

I'm a member of a few Mortal Kombat groups on Facebook and someone asked Todd on Twitter if any new MK figures were being released and he supposedly told them that the company no longer has the licence. I would hate it to be true, but it does look likely because no new MK figures have been announced for this year at all and MK 12 is looming.

From what I recall this was rumored about a year ago and then they hit us with some more figures. I don't mean to be a downer but hopefully someone else gets the license who will put more time into the classic MK roster instead of 15 Spawns

With McFarlane's I loved the boxes, they really made the figures look presentable and the likes of Baraka and Noob Saibot had so much detail put into them. However, making the likes of Spawn & Joker was a huge no from me. I don't like guest characters in the games so I certainly wasn't going to buy them in action figure form. I just wish McFarlane would've completed the MK11 roster.

Now now, it's a long standing tradition to never complete a Mortal Kombat roster in figure form, or get anywhere close. New line announcement, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, couple others... give up. And repeat. That's how it's been done for thousands of years.
Hopefully Storm Collectibles will finally break the cycle, and slowly but surely complete the roster of the original trilogy of games AT LEAST (MK1,MK2,MK3,UMK3,MKT). And when all those are locked into their schedule and definetely happening, ideally I'd love to see the line expanded further to dig deeper into the original trilogy era. For example background characters (e.g. Masked Guard, Shadow Priest), rumor characters (e.g. Nimbus Terrafaux, Hornbuckle), comic/cartoon characters (e.g. King Gorbak, Oniro), concept characters (e.g. Rokuro, tiger-man Kintaro) and a select few SLIGHTLY later era characters (e.g. Fujin, Quan Chi, Tanya, Tremor, Onaga). But all that is getting way ahead of ourselves. For now Storm needs to focus on building the original trilogy roster and not get too sidetracked.

I try to be patient with Storm and love their figures but lately they haven't been as dedicated to the original trilogy with the likes of MKX Goro & MK9 Shao Kahn being made. We've waited years for Kitana & Mileena and where are Sonya & Johnny Cage? Shang Tsung is also long overdue.

That’s kind of a catch-22, since so many people missed Goro and Shao Kahn the first time around. They know these would sell to newer collectors, and by making them different versions, it would tempt longtime collectors to double-dip. Like me. For example, I like the classic Goro look, but I have no question the MKX will be the better figure overall.

I've wanted a Sheeva figure for years and cannot wait for this.
Though, she should've had a removable costume like the prototype. The painted one looks cheap.

Looking at the prototype I would guess that posing and rotating the upper torso had a tendency to reveal too much, that's probably why they changed it to sculpted. I doubt it would bother most MK collectors but obviously Storm would want to avoid any potential uproar over what could be seen as toys featuring nudity, as silly as that would be with an adult aimed collectible that is clearly marked as not being suitable for children. I think it looks fine sculpted but I can see how some people might not like it, particularly since most of the other figures in the line have the torso costumes executed as a separate piece, so it's a little inconsistent. Though unfortunately this line has always suffered from consistency problems, with some figures coming out oversized, overly thick or baggy, or more cartoony looking.

If they weren't so expensive I could easily imagine kids playing with those figures. I've played MK from I was a kid and used to collect the GiJoe's and Toy Island figures when I was young. My only issue with the sculpted costume is that if you move the torso joint the whole thing will not join up.

My only issue with the sculpted costume is that if you move the torso joint the whole thing will not join up. Agreed. That’s kind of a bummer when that happens, but I don’t mind it. With an overlay, (even without the NSFW element they’re probably trying to avoid) you’d get the same issue moving the figure side to side and having it be misaligned. Typically, figures at this scale are tough to do tight fitting clothing on from what I’ve seen.
