The problem is, most of the luchadors' gimmicks are owned by AAA or other organizations in Mexico, and Liger's gimmick is probably owned by New Japan. Which is probably why none of these were made in any WCW lines or in the Jakks Classic Superstars line. Ultimo Dragon could probably be signed on his own though. They can sign L.A. Park who was the original La Parka in WCW and his costume is different from the AAA one. Psychosis might be hard, I know for a fact AAA owns that character. I believe Juventud owns the rights to his character as well, as does Ultimo Dragon. Bill has said before that they could prolly never do La Parka cause like 3 different people own the name and look

None of the ones under contract were big enough names to make a figure of. And the ones who aren't under contract definitely aren't worth signing to Legends deals. I'd like a Kidman though. Are you saying Ultimo Dragon and Jushin "Thunder" Liger are not a legends

Ultimo Dragon is not a legend Big Daddy is a legend too, and he wouldn't be worth signing to any kind of WWE deal either. If Ultimo Dragon had any other WWE career highlights besides hilariously shockmastering at WrestleMania, then maybe more people would remember him. There are fans who want the gobbledy gooker Yeah, just not enough of them for it to be worth releasing a figure of him. Like with the WCW cruisers that never made it above that level.

There is more to wrestling and wrestling fans then the WWE far more, Give people who are fans of wrestling a little bit more credit then that. The wrestling world does not revolve around the WWE and now more then ever. And to say a person like Jushin Liger who is widely recognized as the Greatest Jr/ Cruiserwieght of all time would not be known or bought by fans is 100% wrong.

People remember him from what he did in his career not what he did in WWE. People don't remember him at all -- at least not enough people to make a WWE merchandise deal worthwhile. I get it -- you're a niche fan and you think everything you like would be insanely popular with general audiences. Sadly, the reality is not quite like that. That's why I don't start threads demanding a Crash Holly Defining Moments figure or a real scale SummerSlam '92 arena, because I am able to understand the difference between sensible expectations and my own nostalgic fantasy wants.

No, I'm a wrestling fan. There are millions of us out there. The wrestling world does not nor has it ever revolved around the WWE in many wrestling fans eyes. Maybe explore a little bit of what makes wrestling so great instead of only watching what you see on WWE TV every week. You're missing out on so much great stuff you don't even realize it. Ultimo Dragon is more then remembered, I don't know where you live or what Wrestling fans you hang out with but the man is a legend and Mattel would have zero problem selling a figure of him. TO add, If a figure of Jushin Liger was made I could 100% guarantee it would be the figure of the year and the hardest figure to find because of the popularity and being the first figure made of him on US Soil.

Completely inaccurate. Mattel figures are not made on US soil, and if you meant US companies/releases, well Ultimo Dragon had Jakks figures -- just not many, because he's not anywhere near the casual worldwide star that you think he is.

But he's an even more absurd suggestion than Ultimo Dragon for a figure, to the point where I completely glossed over the name because it's such a crazy suggestion lol.

How so, If your from England you actually get NJPW on TV. I'm from the US and Liger is a legend here as he is is in the UK or Mexico, or of course Japan or anywhere else Wrestling is. Besides the selling of these figures is focus here on US Soil not the UK. So really your looking at a very small market where you are located anyway when the focus and selling pattern is based here in the US. You simply look at your local market instead of the major selling base is here in the US.

You simply look at your local market instead of the selling base is here in the US. Lol. No, I look at how many casual wrestling fans have a clue who Jushin Liger is -- the answer is not many at all. I understand it's hard for you to comprehend that because you like him a lot, and you're convinced that your likes are the things that would be popular with mainstream fans, but sadly that is not the case. Absolutely not the case in this instance. If you think the average Mattel WWE toy buyer in America is a big fan of Jushin Liger, you're probably not the person who should be making lineup decisions lol. I would buy a figure of Liger, no doubt, just like I'd buy a $50 Defining Moments Crash Holly with all the accessories. I just have the sense of perspective to understand the difference between things I would buy and things that are likely to be successful.

Your being short sighted for no reason and giving no credit to fans who number in the millions from buying products of these legends. These legends like JYD, Ricky Steamboat, so on and so forth are being made and selling so making people like Magnum T.A, or Ultimo Dragon and yes even Jushin Liger (If Mattel was so lucky to be able to make him) would also sell. Making one or two a case of someone like Liger or Ultimo would sell with no problem.

Your being short sighted for no reason and giving no credit to fans who number in the millions from buying products of these legends. Sure, but we're living in a fantasy world if we're pretending that fans in the millions are buying dolls of guys that barely even registered in the US. The lesser members of The Four Horsemen sold terribly, as did Terry Funk and Iron Sheik. Masked Japanese Guy #47453 isn't going to be at the top of the Christmas lists -- if they were, then WWE would sign more of them to merch deals and Mattel would have the rights to make them.

Ya I would love to see like Jushin Liger, Psychosis, Juventud, La Parka and Ultimo Dragon. Those would be sweet. Maybe a bengals tights mullet Pillman as well and also ZMan. Not holding my breath waiting for any of them though lol

Ultimo could be signed after his deal with AJPW is over but Liger will be the toughest. NJPW is his home and he is a lifer there working behind the scenes in charge of the Jr division. I know that is a dream and will never happen but if it did he would sell in the Elite Legends slot.

I dunno, Jushin Liger, japanese legend who's got a pretty darn cool look that would sell itself even though people don't know who he is, added with the puro fans.. It'd sell more then Magnum TA, but that's really not saying much.

All I know is there's a lonely flashback Mysterio and WCW versions of Eddie, Jericho and a Malenko will make it better. You hear that Bill? Dean Freakin Malenko.

Cause kids knew who Papa Shango, Kamala, the Big Boss man or HTM were, please! If those guys were made by Mattel who were 80s mid--carders and sold. I guarantee you the cruiser weights I mentioned would sell. Do you even have a clue how big Liger is in Japan, that the character is based off a super popular TV show. Maybe he won't be made cause it is almost impossible to get his rights, like most of the guys I mentioned but when kids would see a Liger in action figure form they'd be all over it, just like they buy every Mysterio, Sin Cara, Torito and just about every wrestler Mattel makes with a mask & paint. As for the cruiser weights Malenko, Guerrero, Jericho & Mysterio along with luchadors as Psycosis, La Parka, Liger, Muta, etc.... Revolunized the wrestling word in the 90s,they were a huge part of the Monday Night Wars. I'm sure there is a bunch of WRESTLING fans who remember them, who want their figures and would buy their figure and I didn't even mention the United States immense Mexican culture who know who La Parka is, who know who Psicosis is and their kids also know who they are and when the walk into a toy store would a figure. Go on ebay, search for AAA Lucha Libre figures and see how expensive and hard they are to find. You need to broaden your horizons.
