I'm not wishing injury on Cena or anything even remotely like that.
But let's say Cena is hit with a career ending injury, where he can never wrestle again. Where does WWE go from here? They don't have any other established main eventers (though they seem to be working on Regins). I guess they could still shill out Cena merchandise, but would sales be affected by his retirement?
Basically what do you think WWE would do?
I think Reigns is most likely going to be a main eventer regardless, but I think his push would be much quicker.

Basically it would force their hand and they'd have to make new stars. As much as I know how much money he brings in, it would allow for others to show that they too can draw and move merch.

The WWE would go into a full on scramble mode as it would be the first time in over 10 years that they didn't have a clear cut #1 guy that they could rely on to carry the company.

I think everything would fall on the shoulders of Sheamus and Orton. Or Triple H would start wrestling full time again. These days WWE always seems to look for the easiest comfort zone they can find.

I always wondered about this myself I think Bryan And Roman would be perfect top faces but with them injured it's not gonna work.
There's only a small handful that can draw as much as cena can.This is what happens when you fail to make new top stars.

WWE would be just fine. They'd struggle for maybe around 6 months (though TBH, the audience has barely grown over the past decade since Cena became the #1 guy) and after cementing either Sheamus, Orton or Reigns (sorry D-Bry) as the #1 guy, the fans that they lost right after Cena left would come right back.

This is why WWE doesn't need to hinge their bets on Cena. Because what if something does happen? Instead of making one star, they need to make several. The Golden Age, the Attitude Era, even the RA Era, yes, they tended to have ONE GUY, but there were several other stars built up too. That hasn't really happened other than maybe Orton and Punk, but Punk is gone and Orton is moving more towards a limited schedule. WWE needs to start building multiple people for the main event NOW.

It would be a tricky time for them.....that's for sure. BUT it might force Vince out of his comfort zone and into some tough choices.
