You wanna know why nobody has ambition Vince? I believe the honest to god truth is because everyone saw what Ryder did. How he became the most over guy in WWE. Had people running for his merchandise like it was bread at the soup kitchen. People chanting for him over guys like THE ROCK! and Cena. And you know what happened? They gave him something (US title, paired with Cena) that gave everyone hope backstage that they could do the same. Shortly after they destroy every single thing he worked for and I feel like it crushed a ton of guys spirits in the locker room.

But that's not the point. It's the fact they destroyed everything he worked for on his own. If they built him up and then slowly lowered him down to jobberism like they do with other guys, it would have been seen as just typical WWE. But because he became the most over person in WWE on his own at the time and was buried, it destroyed everyones drive to try and get themselves over when given the chance because they think the same thing will happen to them

Hey Vince, Zack Ryder reached out for that brass ring that you preach about and look what you did to him. just saying Zack Ryder's push exposed his weaknesses. WWE gave him the opportunity and he sunk. Yes, you can blame it on the atrocious Cena/Kane/Eve storyline, but ultimately, Ryder just isn't good enough to hold a top spot.

He didn't want to be in a top spot. You could just tell he wanted to be there and actually truly cared about winning the US title. He could have been a solid midcarder but he didn't get that. He got lifetime jobber.

You cannot convince me of that.

He's proved to me he has no idea what he's doing anymore, it's not just dirtsheet BS. Can't wait till he steps down and the company either dies or thrives. So you'd rather the company die than continue to be run by Vince?

Neither does Cena's and they've force fed it to us for a decade... saying and doing the same exact sh*t OVER-and-OVER again.

Few notes:
Wish Austin would have asked Vince more about Randy Savage. Finally get to the bottom of things.
Glad Austin asked about the Network. I really enjoy it and I'm glad that Vince is relatively pleased and optimistic.
Not crazy about what Vince said about Cesaro. Steve was right. He was getting hot and they fumbled him around.
Vince mentions Ambrose in a positive light a couple of times. So take that naysayers.
So glad Vince acknowledge CM Punk. And apologized for the dismissal papers on his wedding day. I always believed that was a bad coincidence.
Not trilled Vince said the locker room wasn't as ambitious as they used to be. Maybe they need to feel more comfortable
I agree with Steve & Vince that they need more superstars. Vince acted like the superstars should do all the work, but I disagree. They need proper booking and good stories to work with.
It's easy to say they have too many writers but 3 hours of TV on Monday can't be easy.
The show was too short.
People who claim Vince has lost it are only looking for something to bitch about.
I miss Shane. There has to have been more to that story.

What pisses me off about the Cesaro comment is the fact that he was over. He HAD gotten over. When he turned face at Wrestlemania and won the Andre Memorial Battle Royal he WAS over.
Then they aligned him with Heyman and turned him heel (I guess, still not sure) the next night on Raw and slowly started killing him off. He should've stayed face, feuded with Swagger for a while and then maybe...MAYBE he could've turned heel and aligned with Heyman later in the year.
They killed his momentum by doing the face turn followed by an immediate heel turn the following night. They gone f*cked it up.

I loved it. Actually watched it twice because I missed the beginning the first time around.
Really interesting that Vince said the current rosters isn't as ambitious as it used to be and that everyone is afraid to fail. It's a criticism I've heard from a lot of people. I hope everyone steps up and fights to be the top guy. Seems like Vince is a big Bray Wyatt fan.
I don't think he said anything insulting about Cesaro. He basically said what Cesaro needs to work on. I think that Cesaro was making a connection but he was mishandled and his weak area was exposed as a result.
I like that Vince talked about Punk briefly. Sounds like he thinks if WWE still had someone like JR in talent relations all the ugliness could have been avoided.
I agree with Vince saying Lesnar and Sting are special attractions but I think they could be used better. There's no excuse for the champion not defending the title for 3 months. Also, Sting should have been on RAW last week. How you don't follow up on arguably the biggest debut ever is mind boggling.
I wish it could have gone longer but it was about the length of a normal podcast (50-90 minutes).

Cesaro doesn't have mic skills or charisma. yet you continues to push Ryback and Roman Regins. Or is it because Regins and Ryback have a look you cream yourself over. so you are able to look over the fact that they can't talk. I hope Cesaro says well you i quit. I hate Ryback, but him and Reigns both have charisma.

Fascinating interview. Vince was right on the money about boring Cesaro, shows the old man's still got it.
This was bizarre, though:
"If it's just two guys out there wrestling, and they're just wrestling for wrestling's sake, then I don't know their story. So therefore I don't care about the outcome."
Considering that is exactly how he books about 90% of his shows these days.
