But Flair he has had a longer career as far as in-ring career than Cena has and not to mention Flair has had more relevant feuds and what not but also he transcends wrestling whereas Cena does not

NO! NO! NO! Cena has had his time in the title scene, he is an overrated wrestler, and he is a giant tool.

I think he should. Cena has been the man for the last ten years. That is a long time to stay on top. I grew up a Hulkamaniac. In my opinion the Rock and Stone Cold were the only two wrestlers who came close to replacing Hogan as the guy. Until Cena came along. There is no one around poised to replace Cena in the same way he's replaced those that went before him. Until that person steps up Cena will have to periodically win the strap and carry the company. That's just my opinion. If it does happen I would like to see Flair involved in the angle. If anything definitely there are so many superstars who can replace Cena as "the man" like Reigns, Bryan, Rollins, Ambrose even so many who can carry the company on their back, Cena isn't needed anymore if you ask me I like all of the guys you mentioned. If he can stay healthy I think Bryan is the most ready to carry the torch. I'm not so sure any of them could replace Cena in the same way Cena replaced like the Rock or whatever. Think of it like Deisal or JBL. Both carried the belt for like a year, but were they really approaching Hogan levels of popularity? Thats how I would see a Reigns or a Rollins run. In the same light as a Deisal or a JBL run. Thats my opinion. Someday a replacement will come along but we aren't there yet. That's just what I think.

Do I want him to? No. Will he? Most likely. Now... DEAL WITH IT!

Absolutely not. But it's bound to happen.

It's two different animals. Flair's titles came by way of three different companies over the course of decades. Cena has only (recognized, not sure what he did prior to 2002) wrestled for one company and been to WWE what Flair was to NWA/WCW, like him or not. I'm for it.

Honestly, it does not matter to me. It's not like he's trying to break Bruno Sammartino's seven year title reign. If Cena breaks that record, then there's a reason for me to be outraged.

Flair's actually had like 23 world title reigns but for some reason there's a bunch that "dont count" even though they existed, they happened and people know about them
but there's always going to be a first. Flair will always be the first.
Records are meant to be broken.

Of course not, but it doesn't matter at this point since it's absolutely just a matter of when, and not if, it happens.

Cena is 1000% passing Flair. How are people still not to terms with this yet? It doesn't make Flair any less awesome. WWE writes the history, Flair was an NWA guy, this was inevitable. LeBron will never, ever, be Jordan. Likewise, Cena will never, ever, be Flair. WOOOO!!! This. Unfortunately. Cena will definitely tie Flair's record. I will honestly be shocked if he doesn't pass it. But he'll probably tie the record at Royal Rumble, which would be WWE making two gigantic mistakes at once. As bad as WCW was toward the end, I really wish Vince didn't win the Monday Night Wars. Maybe WCW would have been more respectful to wrestling history. I'll never stop saying it because it will never stop being true: 1980's NWA and AWA > Everything Else

He will.
He should tie it, but two more Cena title wins exactly as he is now and has been for ten years will kill me. He needs something new and fresh, and I'm not talking about a new t-shirt design.

Clearly he will, and it's not that big a deal. Nobody will look at Ric Flair any differently and nobody will look at John Cena any differently.

John Cena still has years in WWE and as much as I hate to say it I know he is going to have it a few more times. I personally don't feel like he derseves so many reigns and shouldnt break Flairs record. I can't believe Cena has had this many reigns give it to someone else!

Considering Cena's been the focal point for the show and nearly all the storylines on WWE programming for the past 5 months or so, I'd say it'd come sooner rather than later. I just hope his tying reign isn't just a MiTB setup--that reign should be a somewhat lengthy one.

He probably will, but like someone said above, it doesn't take away from Flair's legacy. Besides, Flair has held a world title more than 16 times, so Cena isn't REALLY breaking Flair's record, just WWE's version of it. Not to mention Flair has held world titles for at least 1,200 days compared to Cena's 1394 in WWE. And that's only counting 16 of Flair's reigns. So the fans who really care can take solace in the fact that he was probably champion longer, though again, it isn't a big deal in the long run.
