Hey guys, I just wanted to post my thoughts following last night's UFC on Fox 14 main event between Alexander "The Mauler" Gustafsson and Anthony "Rumble" Johnson. Man, that was short and brutal. "Rumble" looks ing vicious at 205. He is on a brutal tear through the Light-Heavyweight division. I mean, he's doing to guys what NOBODY has EVER done. He's demolishing them. He made short work of Little Nogueira and last night, he mauled "The Mauler". I don't think it was even close and I believe it should have been stopped a bit earlier than it was, if you go by other stoppages in the night. I felt bad for Gustafsson because he lost bad in front of nearly 30,000 of his hometown crowd. Not even the champ, Jon Jones could do to Gustafsson what "Rumble" did last night. Jones could NOT do to Gustafsson in 25 minutes what "Rumble" did in just 2:15. That should speak volumes how scary good "Rumble" Johnson is at 205. The guy is a beast and Jon Jones better be worried. If "Rumble" does to Jon Jones what he did to both Little Nog and Gustafsson, then we will have a new champ. There's no doubt in my mind about that. Jones will have a HUGE reach over "Rumble" that's for sure, but I don't think "Rumble" will let that affect him. I think he will just go full force and bring it to Jones like nobody has ever done. What are your guys' opinions of Anthony "Rumble" Johnson?? Think he's good enough to beat Jones??

I don't know whether he'd beat Jones, but as you say - he's looked amazing since moving to 205 (...he also holds a fairly recent win over Arlovski at Heavyweight). The way he beat Little Nog and Gustafsson was scary... I felt bad for Gustafsson too, losing like that in front of his huge home-crowd.
But yeah - Rumble Vs Jones should be very interesting.
BTW, I think Hendo should maybe call it a career after last night... he hasn't looked good in his last 4 fights now and (worryingly) his punch-resistance seems to have gone. He's one of the All-Time-Greats and has nothing left to prove - I don't want to see him getting KTFO.

I dont know if Rumble can beat Jones, but he looked impressive last night and I cant believe this is the same guy a few years ago was cutting to 170 and not even being anywhere near a title shot in the WW division.

Ya he is legit, the real question is does Johnson have cardio since if he doesn't finish Jones early it could spell trouble
