You're not allowed to do the following.. Say you're going to kill the president. You just did. Someone call the cops. We won't stand for this. I only know that because a certain singer got in a lot of trouble for saying "Kill the president of whatever" in one of his songs. |

Just because you revere "The Lord" doesn't mean everyone else has to. We all know your opinion on religion. You whine about it quite frequently. No need to turn this into another one of your crying fests about it. Maybe I wouldn't "whine" about it so much if people like you didn't force others to adhere to your beliefs. You wanna abide by the third commandment, it isn't my place to begrudge you of that but it is also not your place to sit there and tell others that don't share your beliefs to abide by it as well. It's a  in word. People can say whatever they want. Depending on the way they use it, it might make them a jerk, sure. But we're still allowed to say whatever we want. No not really, we have our own set of rules here. And if someone uses any word offensively they'll be dealt with. And this is one of those rare moments when Jack comes off as a mafia boss instead of a website admin.. |

This was one of the socially acceptable terms used way back when. It was never meant to be offensive and the meaning of it is not offensive. In fact the World Health Organization still uses the term. However like many other things, it gets misused and abused. It is not an offensive term but can be used as such just as Jew, Gay, Black Person, etc. For example, I do not see anything offensive if I say "My cousin is mentally intellectually- disabled" but it is offensive if I say "My cousin is a stupid intellectually- disabled person". So it's all in context.Also please keep this thread decent or lockarrony. Dude, you just went full intellectually- disabled person xD In appliance to your initial thoughts, how does the context capture this particular statement? I'm not attempting to pull any strings. I'm just curious. |

Everyone needs to mellow the out. Oh yeah, and stop assuming that being offended puts you in the right. I don't know where people got the idea that they have some fundamental right to not be offended... |
