I get what you're saying. What I'm suggesting is that they touch base with as many wrestlers as possible to find out if they'd be interested in the deal per the consumers suggestions, and then find out from the consumers, which of those guys the people actually buying the figures would be most interested in by way of an Internet poll. There are way more wrestlers out there than they can afford to sign so they shouldn't be doing so blindly. There are certain guys that are no brainers (hero, bullet club, etc) but then there are guys that it would be a costly mistake to sign. Mikey probably falls into that category as compared to other guys they probably could have signed. Also, there's no way I believe that they wouldn't offer the likes of a Goldberg more money than new jack. And it would be completely justified as more people would buy a Goldberg figure than a new jack. Again, a poll could be quite telling in this regard. I understand the way you are looking at it but a guy like Goldberg, who has had multiple figures, wouldn't be contacted based on what the company has said. A guy like Goldberg or Steve Austin etc. aren't what they're interested in since those guys have been done a million times. That's like if John Cena magically walked away from WWE, no way should the company pursue him because look how many Cena figures exist. They want to get guys that haven't been done very much or at all. Goldberg already had a few RA figures in addition to his WCW figs I'm not saying we can't get big names, but if that happens I hope it's a good variety. Say they get Lucha Underground guys or work out deals however they do it and we get Alberto. I'm fine with that because there are no Alberto RA figures. If they got Mysterio, to me its pointless because there are a ton of Mysterio figures from that style From what Chris said in his interview they have a contact list ready for when they pursue the next series and he is in touch with a lot of people. Word of mouth is huge on this too even before the Steen stuff because of the close circles on the indy scene. Its not like the Young Bucks would keep their deal a secret. Its probably common knowledge by this point and it might be a good enough deal to lure some names we might not be thinking of Getting a guy like Goldberg and making an exception is kind of like when WWF didn't want to bring in all the WCW big names at once because they had guaranteed contracts. You don't want to make a big money exception and risk ruining a relationship with your existing talent. They said Myers has put in a good word with a lot of people for them. Imagine how he'd feel if someone came on board and got 5 times what he got. Goldberg is obviously a long shot and I just used him as a hypothetical example, but I'm sure this company's main concern is turning a profit, so if they could get a huge name like that for a reasonable price, I'm sure they would jump at the opportunity. Regardless of the fact that he's had multiple ra figs, he'd still sell way more than blue meanie. I don't think anyone would be offended by him getting more money either. It's completely understandable and warranted based on his merchandise sales track record.

Honestly I think the indy line will outsell the legends line except maybe Cornette anyways. More excited about Young Bucks than anything else.
If they can fill up the rest of this line with some top line guys: AJ Styles, Alberto, Chris Hero, Ricochet, Candice LeRae, Bullet Club guys, etc. then that's what would work best. I said before they have some good names so far getting some more major names to take it over the top pretty much guarantees we'll get more series in the future

I would love for them to go all out wit these lines, and I think they will. I have really high hopes for these sets. I really want Chris Hero, Roderick Strong, reDRagon, Dalton Castle, Johnny Yuma, Kevin Martenson, Zack Sabre Jr, Tommaso Ciampa, Chuck Taylor, Beaver Boys, Monster Mafia, Michael Elgin, Silas Young, Moose, ACH, The Kingdom, Willie Mack, Jervis Cottonbelly and War Machine. That's my dream line-up of stars. If they could make all of those, which I know is asking for a lot, that would be so amazing!

And LOL at WWE getting mad at one of their guys being released due to a deal signed before he got to WWE. How many times did WWE still release a planned figure of someone even after they left? Quite a few. WWE is being petty just like their issue with ProWrestlingTees its because they don't get a cut of the pie. You're surprised that WWE is being hypocritical? See: Beyond the Mat.

What I didnt like was the rep saying they want to do as much cloth clothing as they can. He said that a guy with a singlet like Elgin (if produced) would most likely have a cloth singlet instead of it painted on. I'd hate that as it'd look tacky and wouldn't match up with the other RA figures. What do you guys make of it?

Yeah in that respect I totally agree anything that is their actual ring gear to me should be moulded on, stuff that should be cloth is the things like jackets, t shirts etc

Eh to me that's actually kind of cool because it's different. Will make the figures stand out a little. Different from other things on the market. I give them credit for not doing a simple copy job and working on something new.
They also said not everyone would have it. He said guys like Cole who are in reg tights would be painted bodies not cloth.

Surely though as a way of keeping costs down to have singlet moulds is cheaper then reproducing cloth each time?

Probably because there's not a huge amount of singlet guys in ROH or indies. Mostly shorts or long tights.

I'm not the biggest fan of the cloth singlets and stuff. Fine with it for shirts or other accessories that you'd want to take off, but don't think anyone would want to take off Elgin's singlet.
I didn't mind it when Jakks did it for the first time with the Kurt Angle figure since he would take the straps down when things got serious in the match, so it's ok on rare occasions but not preferred.

I'm interested to see what they do with Cliff Compton. I would think molded shorts and a cloth shirt is the way to go but I guess you never know. Hopefully we don't have any staining issues with the cloth clothing. I was happy to hear they weren't attempting fabric trunks on Cole.
Cloth clothing is usually hit or miss with me. It really just depends on the guy/attire. Historically, I think singlets tend to look too bulky in cloth form imo but, again, it just depends on the figure. Not too many guys I want in singlets, at least off the top of my head.

I'd be fine with them testing the waters with cloth clothing and seeing how it goes. Even if a guy like Cole gets it it might be worth a run to see how it looks and if its not good stick to paint jobs for future sets. Gotta give them credit for trying something different.

There is giving credit and potentially stopping them from making a mistake which may have an effect on sales etc.
As I say I will reserve full judgment until I see it in practice.

If they tried it on a couple guys and it doesn't work you go back to the typical RA painted style. I'm sure they have a plan in place if something doesn't take.
Remember though they do well with the superheros in real outfits. I know its a different style figure but for wrestling they said they didn't want these to come off as basic

they arent trying to make $9.99 toys for kids to play with & destroy. they are trying to create a "premium" figure line for people at shows to buy and hardcore fans, etc. so they aren't just going to slap a painted singlet jakks body with an Elgin head in a package and call it a day

Exactly thanks Chip. The company gets licenses geared towards collectors and online. Its not about doing what retail wants like the 1000 Cena figs out there or like Chip said putting ROH heads on old bodies. If they're making an effort to do something different and new in a way its better than what other companies have done with just recycling pieces

like I said I am not knocking the idea completely, I am reserving my proper judgment until we see these ideas in practice either way I will be supporting the line in more ways then one.
