In honor of 'Mania season, I plan on watching the last 30 Wrestlemania's in order over the next month or so, trying to garner more appreciation for the show as I didn't start watching, myself, until 2005.
Anyone else doing this?

I wasn't, but I might now. With 32(?) Days till Mania it ccouldbe fun. Might post reviews on em.

I've watched since WM21 but I've watched WM20,19,18,17&2000 also but I'm too lazy to do but I may watch all the WWE Diva WM Matches.

I used to do that many years ago, but there are 30 Wrestlemania's now to watch. That is 30 days. That's an entire month. I don't have the patience or want to sit through 30 days of wrestling in a row, especially when the last 16 years or so have been 4 - 5 hours long for a Wrestlemania show.
I did however do that back in 1998 and 1999 and such. It was fun then, but now... no way could I do it.

I was actually thinking it'd be a good idea to get a crew on here to watch 1 a day and then discuss them.
I so often think "yeah this is a great idea, I'll watch through all the WMs in order". I start WM1 and can't finish it because it's so damn boring.

I've already skimmed through 1-5 in a day or so as alot of that crapis unwatchable in my opinion. But it picks up around 5-6 so im going to dive back in at any time.

So let's start with one. I fell asleep. The end. Seriously though, I LOVED the garbage treatment Hayes got throughout. Tito Santana is hilarious. "It is my deeeessssstineeeee to win at Wrestlemania!" 1-9, bruddah. I started getting interest during JYD's match. Guy was a true showman. Would have survived great today I think. Sammartino (Bruno) looked AMAZING even at an older age. He was in great shape. The "Divas" match was hilarious. Oh, you mean that 9 second match was a King King Bundy match? Whoops. Richter vs. Kai was GARBO. Such a crap match. But damn, Lauper gave a GREAT promo. Andre getting the "whatever" treatment was crap. Guy is a Giant and body slammed Studd, yet just gets shrugged off in the post match interview? Stupid. It's amazing to see how buff Steamboat used to be. Jeez. The main event was really just...ugh. I loved the spectacle idea and the aura behind it before I watched it. But having FINALLY seen it, meh. Piper was a  ing hero boss. I'm not sure what I was expecting but...the whole event was very much an 80's wrestling show. Again, probably my fault for being a spoiled 2000's fan. XD |

Hi all, new here (sorta been a lurker for years) I am Anvil fans real life older brother. Watching WM 1 now, and just on the IRS/Windam vs Shiek/Volkoff match and can't help but notice how much IRS reminds me of Bo Dallas!

I was taking notes as I was watching so here are my WM 1 thoughts.
Howard Finkle with hair xD. Mean Gene has some pipes on him.
The arena is very odd, the darkness in the crowd looks really weird.
Gorilla and Jesse on commentary is awesome. My all time favourite play by play guy, and my 2nd or 3rd favourite colour commentator. Awesome duo, they had great chemistry together.

Woah, The Executioner totally sounds like Owen Hart.
Quite surprised that Tito seems very over here. I forgot how good a worker Tito was, the match had a pretty hot start, and Tito pulled off a couple good spots here. Not a bad opener overall, it was fast paced and short. Better than I remember. Was Jesse calling Tito “Chico” an in-joke? He always did it.

SD Jones’ promo sounds kinda erotic about getting down with Bundy lol. Speaking of promos I love that every match here just has a short pre promo with both participants.
Bundy vs. Special Delivery Jones (lol). This must be the longest 9 seconds of all time. SD Jones actually got a pop lol. This match seems like it was Vince instantly trying to set a short match record here, but Jones purposely stalled. I wonder if that’s why he was fired? Either that or just because he was terrible.

Steamboat vs. Doink. Borne looks like Big John Studd. Small John Studd.
Steamboat is enormous here. Must be roiding hard. His head looks tiny, his body is so big. Steamboat reminds me a little of Rollins, there’s definitely something Rollinsesque about him. I actually heard someone shout boring during this match lol. It ran a bit long, nothing overly exciting happened, but this wasn’t a bad match, or a good one.

Beefcake vs. David Sammartino, one of the worst matches ever. David Sammartino looks like Scott Steiner (80s) had a kid with Jumpin’ Jim Brunzell. He also looks a teensy bit like my dad. How David made it on the card over Bret or Jim I’ll never know. The match ran WAY too long. To his credit though, David actually managed to get the crowd behind him.
At the end there, Bruno no sold like a boss lol.
Gorilla mentioned that Brutus was wearing flashy tights which blew my mind because now they seem so tame.

There’s a pretty funny botch here where you can hear Alfred Hayes (lol) talking before the camera cuts to him.
Valentine’s haircut makes me sad. Good worker, zero charisma.
JYD actually got theme music. That’s pretty cool.
Gorilla gave Jim Neidhart a shoutout in this match. That was the highlight of it lol.
Greg got nuclear heat for his feet on the ropes. Bit of a weird finish.

Shiek and Volkoff vs. Windham and IRS. The 1 hour time limit made me lol. The thought of watching this match for an hour makes me want to blow my brains out!
Volkoff’s hilarious singing voice was probably the highlight of this. Rotunda is all spritely and young here, seems like a different worker completely from IRS.
It’s absolutely bizarre seeing the Iron Sheik actually able to move around the ring and take bumps.
It’s such a sign of the times here because the crowd is so hot for the pro-USA, and hates the anti-USA team. Better not tell @bashcrashwiley just how successful it was back here even for a mid card team.

The main event was somehow worse than I remember. Gotta be the worst main event of all every WM.
Overall I can imagine this Mania being awesome in the day, but it hasn’t held up well at all.
