By Mike Johnson on 2015-03-13 14:26:42 The Josh Podcast issued the following:
Roman Reigns called into Elvis Duran and the Morning Show's THE JOSH PODCAST and discussed his WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match at Wrestlemania 31, his critics, scripted promos, keeping 'The Shield's' entrance and more. To listen to the complete podcast, click here.
ON THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH GOING ON LAST AT WRESTLEMANIA “I haven’t talked much about that. My assumption is the championship match should always be last, that’s what we’re fighting for, that’s the biggest prize, as awesome as rivalries are. The WWE Championship, if you have that around your waist you are the man, you are on top of the mountain, you’re receiving the biggest paychecks, you’re going to have the best life, you’re going to create the best future for you and your family. So for me, I think the ultimate prize being the WWE Championship, it should always be on last, not just cause I’m fighting for it.”
ON BUTTING-HEADS WITH HARDCORE FANS
“I don’t think I’m head butting with them, I feel like they are head butting me. I don’t do anything but go out there and bust my ass every single week…Even when I was with the Shield, I’ve always had the critics and I think a lot of it goes with the background of me not having that independent experience, especially being paired up with guys like Seth and Dean because those guys are journeymen. The things they had to do are second to none."
ON “DESERVING” HIS SPOT
"We have a very strong hardcore fan base and they go in a bit deeper than just what the storyline is. One thing that kind of confuses me is that it is a performance, it is a show, there is a storyline. When people start doing the “He deserves this, He deserves that”, really did Brad Pitt deserved to be Achilles in Troy? It’s a weird world that we live in; it’s very real but very scripted at the same time. It’s a fine line and in my opinion that’s what makes it so neat.”
ON SCRIPTED PROMOS HANDCUFFING TALENT “I don’t think handcuffing is the right term. I look at it as a challenge. Obviously as a performer, I would love to go out there and go off of impulse, just go off into the arena and feel what’s going, but it is a show, it is a performance, and there is a lot that goes into this machine… For me, I know for a fact I haven’t told my full story. There is still so much more about me that I want to show the world.”
ON KEEPING THE SHIELD’S STAIRWAY ENTRANCE
“The entrance itself it’s just such a unique thing, somebody had to keep that because it’s part of the show now and I get Tweets and all kinds of social media stuff, “what area are you coming down.” People want those seats now. It’s upped the value of that seating almost to where it’s like a front row situation. Those fans that are on that stairwell that I’m coming down are right on top of me, you get to see me, you can smell me, and people are touching me. You get a very good feel of what I’m like up close and personal. I think that was one thing WWE wanted to do was keep that moment for the crowd.”

Even though that's not the real reason, am I doing it right guys?

Yeah, but when someone who isn't right for a part, in film or television, gets cast for a role, we b*tch and complain like maniacs. Ask Shailene Woodley how that works. It's just a different form of medium though that isn't comparable to those same situations because it's hybrid entertainment. So I think he's just flat out wrong in using that analogy. I understand him being confused as to why people don't like him, but that was a terrible analogy in which to compare it imo.
Also, DDP should have been charging more for tickets when he came to an arena. Sandman too...

Dolph Ziggler is looking loved by 95% of the audience if not more, and he's never wrestled anywhere other than the WWE.

There's so much unfounded hostility towards Reigns now, I hope he succeeds immensely.
He seems a genuine guy and I think overall he's going to be a great package, despite not being there just yet.

Reasonable, straight forward responses. And basically saying what several of us have been saying. If you dislike the situation, blame WWE. Don't blame Roman Reigns. He's just going out there and doing his job, as he's told to do it. He's an actor. It's not his 'fault' he got the role he did. Blame the Production company, the producers, the Directors, hell maybe even the writers...all he's doing is taking his cushy paid gig.
I dig dude's answers.

I'm not 100% sure he's ready to Main Event WM, but I do like Roman. He looks like a natural and he's only gonna get better.

I just don't understand why some people have directed their anger with the way it was all booked in to so much animosity for Reigns the individual.

I dig dude's answers. this is what the Reigns "supporters" don't seem to understand... That's EXACTLY why we are booing the guy and shitting all over his push. In fact I'd go out on a limb saying that MOST of the people who are booing Reigns and using the internet to vent on how boring his push is actually like Reigns and have no problems with him being a star. It's about the fact that this company is taking "superman" to an entirely new level with this guy and nobody is buying it, it's because the WWE is going OUT OF THEIR WAY to make this guy look like a million bucks while about a dozen others who work harder and who are just flat out better overall at everything (besides being samoan and being strong) are getting crapon, on a weekly basis by the very same company. The fact that most live crowds go NUTS for Dolph Ziggler, his t-shirts are everywhere, his merch flys, he's got a crapton of twitter followers....and yet he consistently jobs out, gets made to look like a fool, has ONE big moment (SS main event) and then literally does NOTHING afterwards....hell, the way the commentators talked about that SS match it was like a second thought, second rate, "oh bTW" thing....but Reigns does one spear and its "OMG LOOK AT THE POWER OF ROOOOOMAN REIGNS! HE'S AMAZING!!!!" and Ziggler's just ONE example
