Aguayo looked out of it after the headscissors, the dropkick looked clean as did the bump into the ropes. I have no idea what happened. The blood in his eyes is common to a few neck/rear skull injuries. It is possible the moment the injury happened was his contact with the floor, everything after was just the body catching up.
Sad event all around.

Main stream media already picking this up. It's a story on ESPN.com and everyone's slandering wrestling and Rey in it. What a surprise.. ESPN.com has some of the most ignorant comments in their news stories that I've ever seen In my life. Worse than any IWC group for sure.

It appears he suffered a stroke. Where is this from? And whiplash from the kick or from when Manik hit the ropes?

If I were Rey Mysterio right now, I'd be so torn up, I'd be done with in-ring competition.

I think it's horrible what happened.
A few things I was thinking about that go with some of the comments im seeing on here.
• This happened in Mexico so even if no one in the crowd had a smart phone to record this, the actual wrestling promotion would have distributed the film. I watch English television news and tabloid programs and it is all so censored and vanilla. But then I watch Spanish news and tabloid shows and nothing is censored.
• And as far as pressing charges or any kind of court proceedings, it's Mexico. The legal system in Mexico is a joke. If you have money in Mexico you can buy your way out of trouble.
• What killed him? Did Rey kick him in the temple or something? The 619 looked like it missed Perro completely. So was it the kick to set up the 619?

A few bits of my thoughts while reading this thread,
- What a terrible tragedy that happened and also to Rey, someone who has been so great to wrestling and it's fans. Really feel bad for Mysterio. RIP to this guy and condolences to his family.
- Anybody ripping on the referee is out of their mind. This is wrestling, guys get knocked out all the time. Hell, the referee had no idea what was going on, the guy just wasnt moving. Cant blame the referee for not doing anything.
- And the Konnan situation. Again, this is wrestling. Nobody at the time could have known the severity of his injuries. So Konnan 'shaking' him to wake him up is not something he should be tried for manslaughter over or even being blamed for doing damage. It's wrestling, accidents happen all the time. Maybe the referee/Konnan thought he just blacked out.
It's a terrible situation for everybody involved, and some members here seem no better than the people on twitter heckling Rey Mysterio.

I can't believe the government might go after Rey since it's clearly not his fault.

The sheer fact that manslaughter could even remotely be considered is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

I gotta admit the way Konnan basically drops the guy on his damn forehead looked like it could have caused serious neck damage.
RIP Rey doesn't deserve any flack for this, Konnan on the other hand is a different story.
Manik was really the only one that reacted properly, he tapped him a few times and didn't try to move him much at all, much respect to TJP for being the only person in the video that seemingly acted properly.

If Rey gets tried I will honestly lose all faith in humanity.
He was crying in the ring after it happened.

RIP sir, even though I didn't know your work
Well wishes, and prayers to the family of this entertainer, and for Rey in this trying time. Very unfortunate all around.

I would assume an investigation is just necessary but I'm not a lawyer. Probably just looking into maybe negligence or something like that on Rey's part, but I can't see him being convicted of anything, it was a real freak. Yeah. I think here at least, thats the maximum it could be. It's clearly a freak accident. At least Rey's role.. Honestly as others have said Konnan's part seems much worse. Clearly the guy was seriously injured, but Konnan pushes him onto his head (while he was bleeding from his eye/tear duct?!?!), and with everything we now know about neck and head injuries it's totally unacceptable to shake the dude.. It took way too long for him to get legitimate help. Normally I'd avoid watching this type of thing, but given those involved and it's not just some totally crapty indie/backyard promotion, I kinda needed to see it for myself.

I know that the video is out there and being plastered on every social media/wrestling forum, but I really don't want to watch it. Not just because it features a man dying, or at least receiving the injury that would soon kill him, but because this is the side of pro wrestling that you really don't want to think about. People take massive bumps regularly, but something that seems so simple could be fatal. Makes me worry. Totally get where you're coming from. It is scary. We take a lot for granted... I mean, stuff like this is super uncommon, but who knows? Maybe at WM--Barret falls off the ladder and dies. Maybe Roman, being relatively green still, takes a German from Brock poorly or tries to oversell in and breaks his neck... it could happen. Scary thoughts.

So I just watched it.. Tigre does the dropkick Manik and Aguayo rolls...THAT is when the injury accorded. I mean look at him. As soon as he rolled, which is very very simple, he is lost. He has trouble getting back up, the Head scissors he barely touches rey, when he hits the floor it doesn't look like a no sell it looks more like a WTF is going on lost move. PERSONALLY I believe it happens there and the Head Scissors, Dropkick, and shaking is what finished him.
Super sad events.

Sad event all around. He appeared to be out on his feet when he did the forward roll before the headscissors to the outside. Some people will say he took the bump awkwardly, but that's how Perro always bumps to the outside. I think this is the result something that may have been building health wise for Perro, sadly his time was up. May he rest in peace, and hopefully Rey can move on from this.

That's horrible. I feel bad for Rey, he was just doing his job and now has to live with this for the rest of his life. I can't imagine dealing with that. Obviously I feel for the wrestler too (more than rey) but I don't think people realize how bad this must be eating Rey up. Nobody ever dreams they'll be responsible for the death of another person. I'm surprised something as benign as a drop kick could kill a person. I watched the video and it didn't look like a terribly damaging move. It's horrible when these freak accidents occur. Rip perro.
