My Dad got me into wrestling and monster trucks. After work he used to bring me a wrestling figure and a monster truck hot wheel once a week. I had tons of WWF Hasbro's and WCW Galoob's. Slowly started collecting myself, had over 250 Jakk's and around 40 Hasbro's (10-15 Still In box), I sold them all for needed cash years ago. I got back into collecting around 2009, when Mattel announced they were taking over.

Only child, so imagination was often my best friend. Figures gave me a way to express my creativity, and cultivate artistic talent from a young age.
So much of my passion for creating can be attributed to how I learned to tell a story, using these figures. Whether it was in the ring, or with the Power Rangers saving the day, or that one time the Ninja Turtles and Beetleborgs had to team up to stop the Street Sharks from eating everyone on Earth...
The fact is, Mattel's WWE figures are of an exceptional quality, and I like many on this board saw the first protos when they came out, and immediately fell for em.

For me, collecting started when my grandparents bought me a Marvel Wolverine figure when I was around 6 or 7. I had lots of toys before that but I never wanted to get the rest of the toys in the series until I got that figure. I ended up getting the Juggernaut in that series next, which had me start collecting Juggernaut figures. I currently own all Marvel Juggernaut action figures except for a few from the 90's. That's what started me collecting toys. For wrestling, I never started collecting WWE until 2013. I had been watching wrestling for a while and got some jakks figures before that but I never bought more due to the poor quality. Therefore didn't find out about the awesome new Mattel figures until 2013. Awesome story man Thanks.

I liked WWE. They had an action figure line. Pretty much this. Started with BCA's and stopped collecting towards the end of Jakks' run.

It wasn't really 'collecting' when I was a kid. I just wanted all the new cool characters that would come out so I could play with more characters. But I was always careful with my toys. I would see other kids that would have figures with missing heads or arms and have a lot of paint knocked off their figures. But I was careful with mine, so I guess maybe part of me was a collector then too. It was GI Joe, then Ninja Turtles, then X-Men when I was little. I loved wrestling and had a few Hasbros, but spent more time wrestling with my GI Joes.
Then WWF Bone Crunching figures came out and I couldn't get enough of them. My brother and I wanted all of them, and started buying extra so we could make customs.
BCA figures slowly started fading out and JAKKs released the Titan Tron Live figures. I hated them. They weren't anywhere near as fun to play with as BCAs, and the first faces looked bad. But then they started using Real Scan tech, and I noticed I would buy some of the new TTL figures with no intention of playing with them. But they looked awesome and I just had to have them. So that's probably where I officially started collecting.
I would buy some TTLs and RAs every now and then when I saw some that I liked. But when the first Classic Superstars came out I was hooked and started buying a lot more.
Of course then Mattel took over and I would buy a few Mattel figures but wasn't hooked until Elite 16 Diesel and Punk. Those figures really jump started my love for Mattels.

Defining Moments Macho Man. Indeed. When I first laid eyes on this figure at target my initial thought was "glorious!" It was the exact Macho King I had always dreamed of having in figure form.

Elite Series One Undertaker. I thought Jakks figures were alright but I never collected them since there was no scale. During this time I was collecting McFarlane SportsPicks but once I saw dat Undertaker and the rest of the figures with scale, I was hooked.

Grew up in the 80s. Was into everything from gi Joe, star wars, masters of the universe to tmnt. Cousin of mine had some LJN wrestling figs, then he and I got into the hasbro line. From there really didn't collect as an adult until 2010 when I saw mattel legends Mr perfect on clearance at target. Then I was hooked!

Been watching wrestling on and off since the early 80's. Enjoyed action figures since I was a kid and collected a lot of them. Saw some of the Jakks WWE classics and picked up a few but never went full into it. While reading a toy magazine saw a pic of Legends wave 4 and thought they looked cool since I was a fan of the Ultimate Warrior and Demolition as a kid, did some research and saw Legends 1 had SCSA and Road Warriors, and Legends 3 had the Rock, Mr Perfect, and British Bulldog and that got me started on the Mattel Legends and Elite lines buying figures of wrestlers I knew cause I wasnt watching WWE at the time. Then being a multiple line collector at the time, was watching Mattels SDCC panel when CM Punk showed up with the title after he "quit" which I found interesting so tuned into the Raw after that with the WWE title tournament that Mysterio won, Cena beating Rey for the title after Rey just won it, and then Punk showing back up with his title which started me watching WWE again so then I started collecting all the ppl on tv in the Elite line and basics of divas and ppl I dont think will get an elite. Tho I still buy all the 1st time Elite figures, now I am a little more picky on what else I get. For instance, for E35 will get Earthquake, Los Matadores, and Randy Orton(mostly to make an Evolution version) and pass on HHH(got a short haired version and dont normally buy figures for entrance gear) and Luke Harper(too similar to last elite).

I always wanted a big wrestling figure collection when I was younger and in the last couple of years I've been pretty solid financially so I figured I'd pull the trigger and get myself into collecting WWE figures and enjoying them till I could one day pass them down to my potential children. If not them, I shall be buried with them or passed down to my guinea pigs.

My brother collected Hasbro as a kid. I collected the bone crunching action figures as a kid. I always loved wrestling but it became the uncool thing to watch in junior high, high school, college. Once I graduated college and got out on my own I watched a few episodes of Raw and really liked DB, Ziggler and Punk so I got back into it. Now I can't stop watching and buying figures.

I've told this story on here before..... Previously oblivious about wrestling figures. I was trying to think of gifts for my 4yr old son for Xmas 2013 and I thought about action figures. What action figure would I want the absolute most? The Honky Tonk Man! So I googled it. Turns out I could buy a pretty sweet looking honky made by mattel for $25.49. I bought two. When it came I thought it was so cool, I got an ebay account. I looked up macho man. There were a few different ones I wanted but they were pretty expensive. I decided I was gonna collect machos MOC for myself. Then my wife decided to get my son a ring to go with honky tonk man and the ring came with a basic HHH and undertaker. Then time to catch up on all the other elite legends I want. A year and a half later, I still feel good about it

I'd never collected any action figures before but my boyfriend and I are both big wrestling fans. One day I checked out the WWE aisle at our local Meijer, thinking I could find something small to give him as a "just because" gift. That's where I came across E28 Bray Wyatt. We both love Wyatt and I thought the figure looked so awesome! So after much debating, I bought the figure and put him in my boyfriend's room as a surprise. When he came across the figure, he was kind of baffled by it. I was embarrassed that he didn't seem to like it so I fibbed and said I bought it for myself. I displayed him on our entertainment center and eventually decided to pick up a Cesaro figure to go with him...and I've had the figure bug ever since! (For the record, the boyfriend's come around since then and even goes figure hunting for me at the stores by his work.)

I remember thinking the same thing when I saw this one at Target... I didn't even like Edge's character. I NEVER thought I'd want an Edge figure. Saw that and immediately was like "...you won, Mattel."

I randomly walked down the aisle one day in K-Mart and saw Defining Moments Macho and Ultimate Warrior, thought they were really cool looking and decided to buy them. I really didn't have an interest in collecting anything else, I just really loved those figures. So that was all I bought until...The Ryder revolution led me to pick up his basic series 10 figure, coupled with finding all of legends series 3 at Ollie's for $5.00 a piece.
From there, slowly I would check Walmart and Kmart and see if anything caught my eye. If I would of had the foresight and the knowledge I do now, I would of picked up so many more guys that I passed on, instead of having to pay secondary market prices after the fact. (SES and first Kane MOC RSC Exclusive, WM Heritage Ultimate Warrior, etc...)

i used to have figures as a kid and even some jakks.
but what started me collecting mattels is I saw the mr ass figure on amazon and wanted it. after clicking it showed what buys together they had the road dogg and xpac so i wanted those too but didnt want to spend 45 dollars a peice. so i kept looking around and saw road warriors. I picked them up for 19 bucks a peice and then got deals on the rest. 31 for roaddogg most expensive. 24 for xpac. 25 for billy gunn and the triple h was like 17 bucks. So I got the figures I wanted and just started getting others I thought were cool.

E16 Punk. I had starting buying a few figures before that, but it was seldom. Then Punk delivers his world famous promo and then I was hook on collecting elite figures. I think is was the best timing to start collecting just because of the thrill of the hunt. At that time, it was exciting to see E7 David Hart-Smith, E8 Regal, E13 Edge, E15 Yokozuna, E11 Christian at retail, and trying to play catch-up through eBay and Craigslist, all the while trying to stay current with you guys. I gotta catch them all!
