I started when I was 10 or 12 with the AWA Remco line. I loved the Road Warriors and the Fabs figures. It was just getting them to play with than actually collecting at this point. I always disliked the WWF LJN figures despite liking the WWF. Their figures just weren't fun to play with. I still have my Remco guys, but sold the few LJN guys a few years ago.
I never collected the Hasbro line when they came out as I thought I was too old to collect toys at that point.
Once I got in my mid-twenties I came across the Attitude guys at a TRU and bought a bunch. The brand escapes me at the moment. I ended up selling those about five yrs ago at a garage sale.
Then I had kids and and I came across some Hasbro guys( Hulk and Warrior) at a garage sale and bought them for one of my kids. From there we started to collect those together. He still has those and became his collection now.
A few years ago I saw an ad for the Mattel Road Warriors and started collecting those along with Warrior and Savage. I bought a few others like Rude and Kerry. I took a few years off and started buying some new Warriors and the Red LOD figures. I ended up liking the DM Hulk, Lex Luger and a Taker so I picked those up as well. Now I'm just waiting for a Sting to come out.
I'm enjoying reading this forum and learning about people's collections.

Collected Jakks as a kid, none of them MOC. Quit collecting right before Jakks' contract ended. I didn't start collecting again until I walked in Toys R Us with my friends for s and giggles. I saw a full case of Elite 22 on the pegs. Bought them all. I'd have to say E17 Mankind pulled me really back into collecting. Then it spreaded like a wildfire. I've slowed down recently, though.

My Uncle gave me all his hasbros when I was younger. Started to play with those and then eventually the BCA era line and then started collecting MOC classic superstars once I stopped playing with them. Took a break for awhile and started back up MOC with the DM Macho Man and also Elite 12.

Same here, the Classic Superstars Series 1 Ultimate Warrior figure came out back in 2004. It was the first figure I bought since 1991 when I stopped collecting Hasbros.

I stopped collecting jakks when they first announce mattel wod be making them in the future. But then I saw A basic four pack of Austin rock mysterio and cena for 30$ couldn't pass on the price. that was before Ii knew anything about mattel figures. Then I descovered the elites and it was all over.!

When I was a kid, I loved the LJN wrestlers. My parents would try to pick me up one when we would see them in stores but the series weren't always available. My extended family owned a hardware store and started to carry the line until it became defunct. Their shelves were complete with an abundant amount of Capt. Lou Albano's and Terry Funks and not much more. I picked up a couple of Hasbro figures but only the guys I never got in the LJN series (Bret Hart and Warrior). Years later, I saw Shawn Michaels in a new series of figures and I started to buy and buy and buy. I got them all to make up for the voids in my childhood collection. I bought all the Jakks figures until about 2002. I had no more room. Then, I sold them all at a garage sale. I had the most popular garage sale ever! You should've seen my client base. My son was born in '08 and I knew it was a matter of time. He's got about 100 elites/basics. Unfortunately, he's got little to no interest anymore. This sucks too because, eventually, I'll see Rusev in stores and I know I'll be purchasing it more for me and my childhood. How do I get this kid back on board?

Well, for action figures in general it was when I was a young kid in the 80's. Transformers, GI Joe, He-Man, etc. For wrestling figures....it all started with LJN's then Hasbro and so on. I have collected pretty much every wrestling line since LJN.

Flea Market back I think even before kindergarten. My mom bought me 4 really old figures, one was a debut Hulk Hogan or around there. They were barely articulate, but damn, those 4 figures meant the world to me until she got another bag full, this time, more articulate, boy I was in heaven. Bought my first figures in store shortly after that, Ruthless Aggression John Cena and Shelton Benjamin. Every Wednesday I'd go to the flea market, sometimes two different ones. Regularly bought from this one guy who had so many old figures. Fast forward to going to Target with my dad in 2011 and buying a ton of newly released Mattel's. Now most recently, ordered a basic Sami Zayn. Always remember where you started.
