Those two aren't the easiest to find. The 89 falcons are my favorite team set!

That looks awesome! Great score. Mademan did make an attempt to contact Jim McMahon but nothing came out of it. My search continues.
Either LOOSE or moc, starting lineups look great and are a fun thing to collect. You can have a great collection on a budget or go high end if you choose.

That Mark Grace figure MOC in your last haul looks possessed with the way his body is and his head spun around. Haha. I agree about them being fun to collect. Sometimes I'll go on eBay and just run a search with a price range of $1-$6 and there's a ton of great ones.

Haha, that is strange. Grace, mattingly, Clark, all have that same problem.

89 fralic is THE holy grail! It sucks because if it was any other team I wouldn't care. I just want to complete my Falcons collection. And I really liked Fralic as a player. I even have a Fralic jersey. I never even saw Fralic on the shelves living in Atlanta when they were released. Did pass on tons of John Settle as a kid.

89 fralic is THE holy grail! Ha just read your article off of a google search and realized it was you. You seem to be pretty connected in the SLU world. If you ever come across a loose Fralic or Settle, or one that is beat up and more affordable than a graded one, please let me know. I don't really want an expensive graded MOC one.

Cool! Hope you enjoyed the article. I will let you know. I haven't come across a LOOSE fralic since 1995. No joke. I have always wondered how the 89 Falcons were distributed. Obviously they were only regional, but a 3 player set in a 24 count case seems ridiculous. But, it's Kenner. I heard rumors that they packed them in 88 falcons case, but this was never confirmed. I would love to find a case of 89 falcons

I remember seeing absolute TONS of the 88 Falcons on the shelves for a few years. The 89 ones were a lot more rare, so I am not sure how they distributed them. I remember seeing a few Millers and Settles in stores, but mostly it was Dixon warming shelves everywhere. Even being in Georgia, I have never once seen a Fralic in person. You aren't Kenrkid on ebay are you? I've been staring at their Settle for months.

Wow, that's a fun story to here being a big slu fan. Thanks for sharing. The 88 falcons aren't the easiest to come by either today. Riggs seems to be the easiest of all And castillas the toughest of the 88 falcons. I am curch on eBay, not kennerkid.

He was the toughest to track down next to Bruce. Riggs and Dixon seem to be pretty easy. I think we are pretty close to the same age, so our memories of collecting are probably around the same time frame. Though I didn't keep it up through the 2000s and sold off all of my non Braves, Falcons, and Hawks players. Oh and my Charles Barkley collection. I have all of the Barkley's they made.

I think that is the way the starting lineup hobby has turned. People just collecting a favorite player or team. And that's cool! My big thing is prototypes. But I do have a lot of other figures. My thing is teams, poses, players, etc. I have every Cooperstown/legend and college player they ever made, stuff like that.

That's how I keep myself from going bankrupt, by trying to limit myself on what I collect. I've been a sports fan for so long, it's easy to want to collect all the names you remember. I have almost all of the Hawks now. I haven't worked hard on the Braves collection much because there are so many repeats. I think I have one of every player, but not all of the dupes of guys like Maddux, Glavine, and Smoltz. I've know a lot of prototype collectors, and they are really cool. But so expensive which is what keeps me away from them.

Yeah, the prototypes can get pricy. But so fun to have!
