Lot more outrage over this than I would have ever expected. Mattel does not always make the best decision as far as parts choices. Most of us would agree with that statement. Some people are making much more outrageous claims, saying Mattel is putting out "bad" products. I'd call that a grosse exaggeration, but anyone who feels that way, besides just taking to the Internet to complain, should also make their voices heard by not supporting the so called "bad" products and not buy them. That's what I do when I think things are bad or half-assed. I will definitely be buying the Sting figure and I bet so will most of the people in this thread that are complaining but they should really put their money where their mouths are.

I don't collect anymore, so I won't be buying the figure. I wasn't complaining, just pointing out that I believe he should have those hands.

The reason I'm defending Mattel is because they're just toys, and if you don't like them, don't buy it.
There's no reason to get so worked up over these things. It's a hobby that's supposed to be fun.

Buying well made and well designed products is fun. Clearly flawed and innacurately produced products are not as fun.
Good work should be applauded, poor work should be criticised. I understand someone being content, but that's no reason to get offended at or throw shade at people who see mistakes and think they should be remedied. No manufacturer is above criticism, no matter who their target demographic or price point.
"They're just toys so who cares" is the dumbest argument. Just because you're apathetic doesn't mean everyone else should be.

It's a great figure with one small imperfection. If you think it's poor work, don't buy it though.

It's a great figure with one small imperfection. If you think it's poor work, don't buy it though. On the product packaging from a multi-million dollar company? Probably. On a messageboard where I post for free? Probably not. The arms, shoulders, and lack of gloves are absolutely poor choices. Doesn't drop it from "great figure" to "absolute dogcrap," but it does drop it from great to okay, or whatever. They're questionable and poor part choices, which has plagued the line since 2010. Unfortunately, actually paying attention to detail is more something that happens in theory than in practice. It is what it is, and anyone who's collected Mattel figures from multiple lines over the years will back that up. There's been plenty of figures that I would've liked to purchase, but passed on due to easily fixed problems that were ignored during the design process. Just because I vote with my dollar doesn't mean I shouldn't be able to express my thoughts on the subject though, especially on a forum for discussion of these things.

Despite the arms and gloves, Sting's still a strong A-minus in my book. Hopefully, current Sting has more appropriate limbs.

Who's worked up? I'm discussing action figures on the internet while screwing around at work. At least I'm actually posting about figures and the topic at hand and not making snide comments about other posters instead.

I still don't see the issue with his arms. He was a big guy. He might not have been as ripped as he was, but he was still a large guy at Starcade '97. They gave Elite 19 Dolph and 20 Rhodes they DM Steamboat arms which would have been what I gave Sting those or Sheamus. But he needs to be larger than those two so the only arms left that fit that are the Triple H or Brock arms. So to me the Triple H arms work. Would rather he had the Steamboat arms, but there's nothing wrong with the Triple H arms.

I don't think they should be working their scale around those ridiculous Rhodes and Ziggler figures. Just because they messed those up doesn't mean they should adjust everything else around them. I mean, you can clearly see in pictures and video what Sting looked like at Starrcade 97 and that figure doesn't accurately represent it.
Does Sting in 97 need to be larger than Ziggler or Rhodes? Sure, why not. But if they suddenly decided to give Ziggler Lesnar arms, does that mean they should suddenly use even bigger ones on Sting? I don't think so.
They gave Stardust smaller arms than the recent Cody figures, right? So why should they not continue to fix their scale issues?

I think the sting figure looks fantastic, the arms look fine, he was a bigger dude.
And he wore Mechanix gloves...so other than a molded wrist area, there isn't much to the glove. So painted ones are fine

So painted ones are fine Sting's size keeps getting mentioned but it still has nothing to do with the problem, which is less size and more muscle definitions. I think the JBL arms would look nice, or maybe the Harper biceps, as they represent the size without being over defined.

So if you hate them so much, why continue to come into the thread and troll and belittle people for discussing figures? I dug through your posts, I know you think everything Mattel does is great and perfect, but people don't have to be satisfied just because you are.
Your only contributions to this thread have been telling people their thoughts don't matter.
