Different scenario I know but people were saying the exact same thing when Owens beat Zayn for the NXT championship ( would lose by DQ or beat) since it was only his 2nd or 3rd match. From what I've read, HHH loves Owens as a talent and wouldn't be surprised if he screws over Cena. It fits his current gimmick perfectly, the family man doing anything to win, Jon s the Authority.

There goes that dumb "darling" term again. Who care if Kevin Owens is doesn't look like Batista? Not everyone has to look the same. It's fantastic that Owens looks different. He's agile as hell, can work, comes off as a legit badass and cuts a mean promo. He gives me a Vader vibe and there's nothing negative about that. |

Hey? You know what's cool? When we judge guys based off talent and not size and 'the look', because in doing that you're only perpetuating Vince's idea that all world champions should look like Chris Masters and who cares about ability?
Guys like Owens, Punk, Bryan break the mold. Do we want to go back to the days of Lashley, Batista and Cena types only having top billing?

Honestly, I'd be 100% fine with steen losing the title to Zayn tonight, if either Samoa Joe debuts and or/Steen gets called up to join the authority

Is the match at EC even for the US Title? Its hard to tell. Owens stomping the belt shows he doesn't care for the championship, he only wants to embarrass Cena. Cena also wants his title on the line every week in this "open challenge". I see the belt being on the line, only to further push the match. I can't beleive I'm enjoying a US Title angle / Cena angle!!! |

I'd love to see The Authority help Owens to win the U.S. title, then the next night on RAW, he throws it straight back in their faces and says he doesn't need them or anyone else. Then he lays out Stephanie with a pop-up powerbomb and we don't have to here her whiny voice on TV for the next few weeks. It's a win-win situation.

I thought it was amazing.
I think Owens is the best heel going, along with Seth Rollins. Two different types, but easily the best around with unlimited longevity in both of them. It comes so naturally out of Owens that I honestly think he will be THE heel 'face' of the company in about 5 years. Seth has that awesome move-set that will help him easily switch to a face if they need it.
As for this story line, if I had to put my money on it I would say it ends up being a non-clean finish. Whatever happens at Unstoppable (for example, Owens winning dirty), I think Zayn will come out to stop Owens winning dirty again at Elimination Chamber.
I was hoping they would pencil this match in later in the summer though if I'm honest. I was surprised that they went straight in and booked Owens vs Cena. I maybe would have liked to have seen him re-appear out of nowhere to screw Cena later in the year.

Eventhough i know Vince is stupid enough to make Cena beat Owens because it is obviously he won't loose Clean against a Heel like Owens i just hope for Owens to Apron Powerbomb Cena so the Match ends in a DQ or Count Out... Or just let Owens win the ing Match because Cena already is a 15 ing Times World Champion who should not beat someone like Kevin Owens at all especially not with Cena beeing the Top Guy for over a Decade! |

I'll just wait and see how it pans out first...Owens stepping on the title was an indicator to me that he is not just 'anybody'...regardless of him also being NXT champion...
