Urgh; only matches I cared about were Owens/Cena and the Main Event - simply put, they were both booked horribly.
First off, do we REALLY need to see the SAME match between Owens and Cena for the 3rd or 4th time? Like really? Add a stipulation atleast, up the tension, but nope, because their first one got a great reception they think its justified to repeat it over and over for 3 months. BORING!
And having Cena win....why? Really, what does he have to gain? Not a thing, but still, even if Owens had won, where can he go? He's beaten the face of the company, he's beaten the guy thats pretty much considered as THE man, so where does he go after? He could either face the Champion, or could go back down the proverbial ladder and face midcard guys, where he wouldn't gain crap either and would look just silly if he were to lose.
Cena is a poison to the company in a way they have never had before; THE guy has never stuck around as long as Cena has - Austin never hit fully stride again really after WMX8 (98-02, with a year break) and Hogan was done after 92 (84-92). Cena is too stubborn for his own good and is killing any credibility any superstar is fortunate enough to muster; now with him being in the midcard, he's killing people's momentum before they even get a chance! He is just so stale but just isn't believable in any role other than a force because they have forced that booking of him for so long it'd be silly to see him trade wins and loses with midcard guys like Miz and Harper.
As long as Cena is around, the show, the roster, the company is gonna have to go through the cycle of building people up and having to have Cena crush them down.
As for the ME, again we get to see the same Lesnar match we've pretty much seen for the last year and a half now; again, whats the point?
Whats the point of having the guy thats your Champion, the guy thats SUPPOSED to be the face of your Company, the BEST you have, and having him just get thrown around for 15 minutes? Whats the point? Do we need to see Lesnar do this to people still, do we need to see him do something similar to what I was talking about with Cena, he's killing the credibility of Rollins by destroying him so easily, hell he's destroying the credibility of the title. Why care for the Champion when he's clearly no match for a number of his challengers? Every PPV feud he's been in as Champion he's been the coward and scraped by; I get the whole coward thing, but there comes a point where its just foolish and just plain detrimental to the product - Edge was the first one to really do this, to go full on coward and it was a great troupe for him because you hated him more, but now, with Rollins being the 1675th person to do this, its just boring and a stale attribute. Plus, with Edge he could fight and would win convincingly some of the time, not all the time, but he would pick up the win on his own when it called for it. Any time you separate Rollins from the Authority he's dismantled and made to look like a chump - why care about the Champion and the Championship itself when the holder clearly isn't the best or deserving?
And Lesnar; I've said it before, he's been booked TOO strongly, its now at the point where there really isn't anyone that can convincingly defeat him, he's plowed through everyone with ease, too much ease in fact. Its boring to see him in glorified squash matches (billed as MAIN EVENTS no less!!) every time he's around and I love Taker, I do, but if you have Taker beat Lesnar, which Im sure he will, what does that say about Rollins? What does that say about Reigns? What does that say about Ambrose, hell about Cena?! You have a guy that can barely walk beat Lesnar...then what? Im fine with the angle, and I'm fine its taken this long for Taker to want retribution, but they really should have thought about this - this will kill so many of the "top talent's" credibility if you have a man in his late 50s beat this hulking, overhyped "monster".
In general, the booking is killing any and all substance and momentum the guys like Rollins, Ambrose, Reigns, Owens, i.e NEW TALENT have. The old guard need to find their place, out of the title picture, out of the main roster of feuds and battle between themselves and leave the new guys to build themselves up.
