Source: Wrestling ObserverAlthough Stardust was back at television this week, WWE decided not to use him. The belief is that WWE isn't ready to turn Stardust babyface, and due to the fact that he is Dusty Rhodes' son and people probably won't want to "boo" him, they are waiting to bring him back to television.

Stardust continuing on is the last thing that I want to see in the current product. Cody is still young and I get that, but a real opportunity to reach the main event scene as himself is long overdue.

I like the Stardust gimmick but it's clear they're never going to use the character to its full potential. They should just bring him back as Cody Rhodes already.

Stardust4life. I love the gimmick so much I will be heartbroken when he gives it up. I can tell he loves the character and that he puts everything into it.

Let's hope this turns into Cody letting go of that terrible gimmick on his own. This will be their way of explaining it, instead of just coming back as Cody so abruptly

The gimmick is terrible. There is no "full potential" for it whatsoever. Its 2015 and its beyond stupid. The Goldust gimmick still works because its what Dustin has been doing for 20 years. The Stardust deal was over for about 2 weeks and even that was surprising.

I don't want Stardust, I want to see Cody Rhodes return in the main event picture.

I miss so much seeing creative funny gimmicks like Stardust....in this era where half the guys look like they're getting ready to play some street basketball or look like backyard wrestlers, it so refreshing to see a character like this....I can understand a turn back to him being Cody out of respect for his father..... But I really hope it wouldn't be the end of Stardust.

I'm watching KoTR '97 and something JR said about Goldust really spoke to me as to why Stardust isn't so well-received. JR basically said the fans began to warm up to and respect Goldust when he explained his motives for being in the paint, the mannerisms, etc.--being all for Marlena. With Stardust we never had that true motivation for donning the facepaint. We just got Cody creating a "better" partner for his brother. We never had an explanation why he stuck around, why he was superior to Cody himself, why Stardust overpowered Cody to the point where he didn't want to even admit he was Cody, etc. It was a talented dude playing a character well, but lack of character development hurt him.
I'd welcome a Cody Rhodes face return with open arms, but I think the main event picture is too cluttered with good guys for him to matter.

Really? I missed that somehow. What happened? Getting back on topic.. I'm not crazy about Stardust but for my tastes watching Cody Rhodes is like having a bread and water for dinner so I don't really care what they do with him.

the Stardust gimmick. I don't like the gimmick either because it rips off Goldust

I first hated Stardust, then grew to like him.
That being said, it has run its course.

I don't think the Stardust character ran its course because he can do so much more with it I mean the possibilities with stardust is endless right now he just needs to be repackaged in some way.I just hate the whole "Im dusty son so cheer for me" thing that happens he's still a heel,it's a t.v. show with characters and I'm pretty sure cody himself wouldn't like it either its just like Rey and Chavo all over again.

We won't forget he is Dusty's son. The fans want him back. They want to cheer him. Just let the guy do what he is ing good at. Let him carry on the Rhodes name. If he wants to continue to be Stardust, fine, but don't keep him from doing what he loves. Guy lost his father, I'm sure he wants back asap.
