It's time to drop the Stardust gimmick and have him just be Cody Rhodes, The grandson of a plumber.

"The American Dream" Cody Rhodes, Dammit That could work, he would get over with the fans. The man can wrestle. He has mic skills. He needs to be repacked and get a huge push.

He was so over as face feuding with the Authority. Would be great if he went back to being Cody Rhodes again and have a nice face run in the upper card.

I first hated Stardust, then grew to like him. That being said, it has run its course. that's kind of how I'm starting to feel... I'm just worried he's never be able to get higher as Cody anyhow, cause he's pretty vanilla and not very compelling as a personality/character.

He should come out and team with some heel like Slater or somebody. They lose the match, he wipes his paint off, and drops him with the Cross Rhodes. He says that Stardust is dead, and Cody is born. Something like that. . I don't know.

Honestly, I would love to see Cody Rhodes come back as himself and get a major program push. I think Cody could have a great feud with some of the main event guys and really make a true name for himself. Stardust is cool . . . but it is played out.

They really think this Stardust gimmick is a long-term deal?

They would be a lot better off just letting him return as himself. The Stardust gimmick is pretty lame, and had the well had already run dry for it, especially as a singles wrestler. I'd rather see him just come out of nowhere and to the US Open Challenge, or a face run in. Hell, they could give him his dad's theme for all I care. And yes, it would be capitalizing off of his father's death. But if anyone would have been thrilled with that, it would be Dusty. A promo with him declaring that the American Dream lives on, through him would be great. I'm not saying be a parody of his father, but adopting bits of his gimmick with his, would go a long way for him, and the fans.

I always liked Stardust but when he started rockin' the Mr. Sinister cape was when I really marked out, lol. Hopefully he'll get back on TV soon.

Well the fact Stardust's Twitter is all blacked out and the Hyrule Husky personal Cody Twitter has a picture of him and Dream are the best hope we have that Cody will be coming back.

Why do people want Cody back? Seriously he will never make the main event scene. He always gets thrown into random tagteam's because he simply has not got a personality when he tries to play himself.
Also just because Dusty died that doesn't mean that he should drop Stardust and get a huge sympathy push which would fall flat because that's wrong.
Another thing Cody likes the Stardust gimmick and it was him who originally came up with it so it he's happy enough playing it then let him go.

I figured it was because they didn't have anyone who needed to beat a jobber.

After Legacy he got a chance as Cody Rhodes and always killed it. Dashing Cody Rhodes was highly entertaining and he completely lived and breathed the gimmick. Undashing Cody Rhodes was some of the finest heel work of that time. Fantastic character work, great on the stick and had some good matches. As the IC Champion he showed less character but was still damn good. After that was wasted, the dude moved into a team with Damien Sandow and grew a dumb mustache. What did he do? He got the mustache over. There were chants for it and even a shirt released with it. There he goes taking something lame and running with it. He was THE STAR of the 2013 Smackdown Money in the Bank match and had the crowd way into him. At the tail end of 2013, going against the Authority he was the most over face not named Daniel Bryan or John Cena. While I loved the moment with Goldust, they didn't need to stick him in a tag team because he red hot as a face. Cody makes everything work. Cody is fantastic, can work in the ring, is good on the mic, gets the crowd behind him and is able to work with whatever is given to him.

He's had two amazing matches with Randy Orton in my most recent memory. The No Holds Barred, and his "last" match where be got fired. He kills it in every single Rumble match he's in, he's only realistically an hour or so away from Triple H's record, has about 15 eliminations in all combined, not counting Stardust this past year. Even in his Undashing stage, the crowd got behind him in the Money In The Bank, (2011) and don't even get me started on 2013, I was there live, and God I love sandow but man, I got so bummed when Cody didn't win.
In Conclusion, Cody has "it" and can easily be feuding with Rollins, in my honest opinion.

I want to see dashing Cody Rhodes make a return, but I don't want them to just drop the Stardust gimmick. I would like to see Cody Rhodes actually put an end to the gimmick and maybe apologize to the audience and his brother for his actions?
