Nexus was one of the best and most interesting storylines they had in years (at that time).
I'm not saying Barrett should've been handed the title immediately but they killed off the Nexus WAY too quickly. I said it before but I actually stopped watching for several months out of disgust with the way they handled the Nexus storyline.
Since then, his career has been a series of injuries and constant start-stop pushes.

WWE had dropped the ball with so many mid card guys all the way back to 2003. But as for Wade Barrett, I was a fan of his during the Nexus days. As for now, I cringe when he comes on TV. It doesn't help I know I will hear JBL yell "All hail King Barrett!!" and I absolutely hate JBL. But I find Wade boring now. It doesn't help he is in a feud with the 57 year old R-Truth either. 57 year old R-Truth. LOL He looks good for his age then.

Not really. He doesn't have 'it'.

They're still dropping the ball with him. His King of the Ring victory has essentially been turned into a joke angle.

They dropped the ball when they severely cut back on the Bad News gimmick. That was gold. Otherwise I think he's been doing pretty much exactly what he should be.

'dropped the ball' implies that he could've been more than he was, which in wwe's creative climate i feel 50% of the talent are therefore dropped the ball on in terms of potential reach. his character was picked up and dropped too often, and he had some unfortunately timed injuries.

I have always felt like they wanted Barrett to be a big deal but his rash of injuries and inability to get over in a sustained way have scuppered their confidence in him. I have said it for ages......the muscle of the Authority needs to be revamped......and Barrett needs to be part of that revamp. What inability to get over? Every time he's gotten over they take away what got him over in the first place. Sorry man Barrett as a performer(outside his leadership of Nexus) never connected with the majority of the fanbase IMO. Now he may have if he had been left alone as you point out..... but really the writing was always on the wall for these gimmicks due to losses or poor booking. take the "Barrett Barrage" for instance

He should honestly just part ways with the company. No one will ever take him serious again after losing to perennial jobber R-Truth about 58 times in the last year

Im a fan of his but they push him then as soon as he gets a title or gets somthing decent going he ends up hurt or they have him job to damn near everybody with a pulse...although the switch to BNB rebooted his career they took away everything that made him cool an now he is just a guy who wears a robe and a crown and on paper he looks like a successful decorated champion but if you watched it unfold live it just dont match up imo he never has had a real solid run with any title but id imagine that has alot to do with him being so injury prone

Originally at the end of Nexus, yes absolutely. Wade was on fire and a hell of a hand, now I'd just prefer if he wasn't on tv at all, I have no desire to see him do anything at all..

They've made him a big deal but at least he hasn't gotten the Alberto Del Rio/Sheamus push to WWE/WHC which I'm honesty surprised by. He isn't that good Daniel Bryan should've won NXT season 1. But of course you can easily see who Vince likes and doesn't like. Kinda funny how He went to Bad News Barrett which was awesome (when he was speaking at the podium) to Kinng Barrett (who's facing R-Truth in the kick off show) he should've had more prestige as the King but at least R-Truth is on my tv so I'm happy =]
R-Truth > WAde Barrett >Sheamus / Del Rio(< Patron)

Hell I don't like those guys but I'd like them as the authority.

Actually. Blame Barrett. Every time the WWE gets behind him he gets hurt. Injuries is something that wrestlers can't control. And not just wrestling, but any sport for that matter. You can't blame him for always ''getting hurt'' if he can't control that.

Barrett's not the only injury prone wrestler on the roster, Orton was severely injury prone in the early years of his career, they just never gave up on him. Batista was out once a year, but he always had a push to come back to. I remember Vince was apparently a fan of the Bad News gimmick, so I really don't understand why they dropped it upon his return to make him some British dude in Tommy Boy briefs

From day 1 the Authority should have been used as a vehicle for younger guys alongside Rollins.......Sheamus & Barrett are tailor made for this role imo.
