Pretty much. From day 1 the Authority should have been used as a vehicle for younger guys alongside Rollins.......Sheamus & Barrett are tailor made for this role imo. I've backed you on this idea since day one. Yup!! It's just that the authority muscle roles were wasted on Big Show & Kane......I would still have Kane involved but casting Barrett & Sheamus in the role of ruthless legbreakers for The Authority just fits both so well and creates interesting scenarios

There are quite a few guys that could benefit from being in the authority.

To be fair though they drop the ball with nearly everyone these days so its not just Barrett. I'd say in the past 5 years or so guys like Ziggler, Barrett, McIntyre, Kofi, Ryback, Cesaro, Swagger, Miz, and Morrison all had one time or another where they should have been pushed to the moon and maintained main event level status. Yes. Along with: Ziggler Kofi Big E Ryback Cody Rhodes Bray Wyatt Cesaro Luke Harper Swagger Damien Sandow Rusev Should I go on?
I know it's easy for us to Monday morning Quarterback...but I don't know how they couldn't find something meaningful for a lot of the guys listed above.
True, some of those guys may have looked the part but then once they got there they may have failed miserably...but I can't think they ALL would have burned out.
Ziggler, Sandow, Swagger, Cesaro, and Wyatt top my list. These guys should be the upper tier right now, instead of meandering around between midcard and curtain-jerker status.
And of course, to be fair to everyone involved, there are a lot of guys who were part of the ball dropping over the years...but it does really seem to have gotten worse with the current crop of writers.

Barrett and Cesaro are two guys who most deserve to be in the Main Event.

I have always felt like they wanted Barrett to be a big deal but his rash of injuries and inability to get over in a sustained way have scuppered their confidence in him. I have said it for ages......the muscle of the Authority needs to be revamped......and Barrett needs to be part of that revamp. What inability to get over? Every time he's gotten over they take away what got him over in the first place. Exactly. He was even told to stop doing the "I'm afraid I've got some bad news" act, by the "powers that be", because it was getting too popular and getting him too over. Also, can someone explain how he's "injury prone"? To my knowledge, he's had two injuries - one where someone landed on his ing arm in the MITB match, and one when Swagger threw him into a barricade and ed up his shoulder. To say they've "dropped the ball", with Barrett, is an understatement. Like his fellow compatriots, Paul Burchill, Katie Lea, Steve Lewington, Regal and even Davey Boy, before him, he's been wasted or not used to his full potential. Look at the way they discarded Ken 'Bram' Cameron - one of the best things in TNA currently, and scrapped Hade Vansen after one vignette. Englishmen just don't get to the top in this company. Neville looks like he might be the one to buck this trend, but he'll probably end up the same way as all the others. As for Barrett not having "IT", it was clear he had "IT" the second he stepped on screen in 2010 as Jericho's protege.

Well, of course! It's not rocket science to figure that one out.
