I'm 23 and have been in college for a few years now. No one needs to know and if they do, who cares? If anyone has to judge you then you're better off without them. Never change yourself for anyone. (unless you're a serial killer or a date rape criminal which I highly doubt you are lol)
Chin up buddy! Keep the figs!

I sometimes wish it was the 1990's again or around the additude era where it was cool to like wrestling. "Now a days WWE is made for 7 year olds and not for late teens and adults". This mind set that people have of WWE is so stupid. But anyways ive come across craplike this before. They usually look at me funny. But hey what else are they gonna do. EM!!!!! If they dont like you for who you are. Its cool bro cause at the end of the day the person looking at you funny or making fun of you doesnt feed you or take care of you. Don't pay mind to them. Hope you have fun in college. Bump

Probably in your best interests to leave your collection with whomever you lived with during high school (parent/guardian). Have any new figures you buy be sent there. Would make for some mean unboxing sprees when you come home every few months

I'm 20. I remember in school when I was 13 some kid saw me buy a wwe figure in a shop and told people I bought a "doll". I remember one girl reacted like I had a contagious disease. This is the best advice............... Don't pretend to be something you're not. Just be who you are. That's what's really cool.

Tell them a 26 year old dude who goes under the alias "smurf" on the internet said it's cool to collect figures. they might think your imaginary ...lol Anyways I'm 29 and I don't give a damn what other people think but you will come to find more adults collect than children. Also if you find a girl that likes your collection put a ring on her finger

Im 30 and collect. And i get some slight remarks here and there from friends but who cares. I get more questions and intrest than negative remarks. You cant live life altering what makes you happy from fear that others wont approve. You do you man.

I am 27 and collect. I really don't give a crapwho laughs or makes fun of me. My cousin would make fun of me all the time then her daughter came over and wanted to play with "my men". So while she made fun of me I got the last laugh in being able to say her daughter players with boys in their underwear and boys toys. Not that I see a problem in that at all

I am 18 years old and about to go to college in the fall. I just got back into collecting figures a couple of months ago and my collection has grown to about 18 figures now. However, I hide the fact that i like wrestling and collect figures to my friends. Going to college, I am worried people will not like (or make fun of) that i enjoy wwe (they wont find out i collect figures because they will stay at home). Can anyone give me advice to deal with my worries? They aren't real friends then I don't care what they do with their time and money

Advice from a guy who is much older than you...
...if a buddy doesn't like your figure collecting, find something nerdy about him and poke back.
...if a possible lady friend doesn't like your figure collecting, dump them all in the trash and light them on fire.
okay, I'm joking a little about the second thing.
Don't hide it, just own it. It shows you can be passionate about something and it will help take your mind off of the non-stop homework. Everyone needs a little distraction in their lives.

My 2 cents......
I'd keep collecting. be who you are and do what you do. Don't keep it a deep, dark secret. BUT I'd keep the collection at your parents house. College kids are all drunks and thieves. You don't want to move into your first home 4 or 5 years from now with 2/3 of a collection that smells like dorm room debauchery.

I'm 18, I collect figures and all my friends know it and they don't mind at all. Some of them think it's cool, actually.

In my college experience, I couldn't tell you HOW I made it work, but being honest and upfront goes a long way. I think college is such a time to break out of the comfort zone, meet new people, try new things, and just live in the moment. I don't remember if I gradually told my friends about it or what, but before long whenever we went out, I took everyone to Toys R Us with me to look around. "Friends that matter don't mind, Friends that mind, don't matter".

How can you call people "friends" if your scared to be yourself around them? REAL friends are not shallow and judgemental, well at least the few I have. Be yourself all the time, if people think it's stupid to collect action figures they probably have no hobbies at all or are probably more embarrassed than you are.
I don't care what people think of me, I like to live my own life instead of trying to conform to other people's standards. And once you find real friends you'll learn they actually support and help you with your hobby.
