So before we start, I want to clarify that I have no issue with part-timers. I love Brock Lesnar's part time schedule and also enjoy Chris Jericho's schedule where he comes and goes.
However, I find The Undertaker's schedule to be frustrating at times. I feel like we have seen a lot more Brock Lesnar than we have Undertaker in the past couple of years. I mean, Bray Wyatt had to literally carry the entire program leading into Wrestlemania on his shoulders only for Taker to show up on the day of and win.
I get that Undertaker is winding down his career. I understand. He owes us nothing. I respect The Undertaker. However, I just read that he has already flown back to Texas following his match with Brock Lesnar at Summerslam last night. However, Lesnar is still scheduled to be on Raw.
I mean, if that's even true, Undertaker couldn't stick around for ONE more day and at least give us...something...anything? It's similar to when the Shield took Taker out by putting him through an announce table. He just disappeared. Gone. Nada.
Again, Taker owes us nothing. I just feel like if you're going to involve yourself in storylines then it needs to be more involvement even on a part-time level. In the case of Lesnar, we have seen quite a bit of him this year so far and he's even scheduled for a MSG show in October which will be aired on the Network. I wasn't a fan of Taker-Lesnar happening at Summerslam in the first place but considering the f*ck finish you think we would at least get some sort of statement or interaction between the two on Raw tonight...
How you guys feel?

I can see your frustration, but I don't agree. You definitely make a valid point, but I actually like it how Taker's schedule is. I feel like his appearances feel more special. I can't think of any time in the last few years that I haven't been excited to see Taker.
For example, Taker not being there tonight is a good thing, considering last night's finish. Heyman could say that Taker stole a victory and now is running away or something.

The Undertaker is a 75 year old man.
So of course we are gonna see less of Taker compared to the likes of Jericho and Lesnar.

Taker has earned any schedule he pleases at this point.
Brock is surprising me though. I honestly feel like he's got some new fire lit under his ass, and is really really enjoying WWE this time around. I have a feeling we will see more and more of him throughout the next few years.

I understand what you guys are saying and even agree with most of it.
With Taker it's usually one big match per year and that's totally fine. However, I'm more referring to him showing up considering the crap finish from last night.
I was just hoping for more than "Arrive. Ball shot. Leave" I guess.

I heard that he hadn't flown back yet.

I agree with pretty much everything you said. From him not owing us anything to the dumb idea of the match to him not showing up.
Simply because he is the Undertaker though, people will say he's allowed to do whatever he wants.

If Taker won the match clean last night with no controversy and wanted to fly back to Texas to bang McCool butt then that's fine. However, considering the f*ck finish I would kinda hope he would stick around for Raw to at least continue the angle...or whatever they plan on doing with it.

Also im pretty confident that this is Takers final run, which is why he wants a few extra matches in before he retires at mania.
Then again he looked really good last night imo

I agree with what you said, although I do think Undertaker has earned any schedule he pleases.
As far as the match, they made Undertaker look weak at the end when they could have done it a better way. (example; Old school Kane interference)
Instead he tapped, then still cheated. He did look pretty damn good throughout, just think the ending soured it for me.

Taker can never do anything right in the eyes of the IWC. They bash him when he's there and call for him to "just go away" and talk about how he's an old man that "can't even walk down the ramp anymore." Then when he comes back for a feud that injects a much-needed shot in the arm to the WWE this summer and puts on a match that has the crowd enthralled that shows not only is he not crumbling into dust but can still go with the best of them, he doesn't really get credit for that only bashed because "well he just looked gassed too soon" and the screwy finish overshadowed what was an excellent performance that really shut up a lot of naysayers. Then when he doesn't appear on Raw so that the precious younger guys can have 100% of the show and take up 100% of the spotlight as should happen at this stage he gets bashed for not caring enough to be there.
Will it be like this when he retires and is gone forever? Or will people just be able to finally look back with fondness and just appreciate what he gave and what he meant all this time?

And there's no way he just "hopped on a plane and went home " for good. They would've have booked the match the way they did unless they were gonna have a rubber match. Survivor Series would be Takers 25 th anniversary. You know he's gonna wanna wrestle there.

You did the same thing around WrestleMania if I remember right. Have you looked around this site? There are TONS of people that feel the Undertaker can never do wrong, which is the opposite of your statement.

I'm making an observation... fairly accurate if you read much of the IWC these days. Yes I'm a bigger Taker fan than any other guy but that doesn't mean it's an emotional post where I'm spewing out crap. I didn't "do" anything at Wrestlemania time however, you seem to take it personally and get incredibly irked when I defend him. Lord knows he gets enough crap, why can't I make some observations to the contrary? And if you don't like it why bother always responding and seeming to get up in arms about it?

BTW. Does anyone else think WWE is trying to slowly position Taker as a heel? Lesnar has always been over, but he's been even more over since Mania and getting a babyface reaction. It might be an interesting story if they act list Taker needs to cheat to beat Lesnar and Lesnar destroys him every time.

Yea, I'm not up in arms about anything. I was simply stating an observation. Between the few sites I visit, I've seen the number of people that support any and everything the Undertaker does as if it's gospel vs. the people who could care less about him is far greater. I don't really get irked. I respect the man but would be perfectly fine if I never see him wrestle again. There are FAR more people around here that feel the opposite, so it's hard to say your post was "fairly accurate." As for Mania, I could be wrong about the time, I seem to remember you going back and forth with a few people about them not respecting the Undertaker when they were simply saying that they weren't a fan of what was going on at the time.

I agree with Bash.
But more importantly, when I read the title of this thread, I began to sing it to the tune of "Part Time Lovers" by Stevie Wonder.

It might be an interesting story if they act list Taker needs to cheat to beat Lesnar and Lesnar destroys him every time. I'd feel so much better about heel turn if he were actually around more to play it out and if it felt right with the fans and seemed to be evolving naturally. Even after last Monday's hometown celebration the Brooklyn crowd was clearly more in favor of Taker last night and wanted him to win. Lesnar even got booed often from what I can hear and from what the live reports said. Fans don't seem to want to boo him and it makes a heel turn seem puzzling and forced. It's just strange timing.
Also Lesnar didn't destroy Taker this time. It was a back and forth fight with a screwy finish, but you can't call it a beat down.

Something else I find really ing funny Mania 30: Just about every one of you were going bat$hit crazy. "WHAT THE WHY LESNAR WHY HAVE THE STREAK END" Summer slam 2015: The roles are reversed. "God get old man Taker outta here, Lesnar is the real monster " Did it not work exactly how they wanted it to? I had said it since the very night the streak ended. Lesnar is the new phenom. He's the guy everyone wants to see now. He's the untouchable monster. Taker passed that torch to Brock. And now we all perceive Brock EXACTLY how WWE wanted us to when they booked him to beat the streak.
