I got back into collecting because I was a huge CM Punk fan and he had won the title and I started thinking, "Man, I want a CM Punk figure." I never bought a Punk figure when Jakks still had the WWE license. Then I thought, "Man, I want to play with a CM Punk figure." Then that turned into, "But I'll need another figure to play with that figure. And a ring. And I need more than two wrestlers." So eventually I went to my local Target, bought up a ton of figures and a ring on clearance and then the next week went to TRU and spent even more money. Now my collection is probably between 100 and 200 figures from all generations. I'd have a lot more money if I never got back into it. But I'm very happy with what I have and enjoy playing with it. First basics I bought (that I remember): World Champions CM Punk, Daniel Bryan with No No No trunks, Miz with the first slicked back hair and awful scan, Kane (I think). First elite: Dolph Ziggler with the pink trunks and black vest. I wanted to stick to basics first because they were just as good as Jakks in terms of movement and cheap. Now what I collect is 95% elites. I feel you bro! Got away from Jakks well before their license ended. Bought a few figures here and there, but it wasn't until CM Punk's pipe bomb that I got back into collecting.

Pretty sure my first Mattel was a basic Miz from one of the earlier series that my mom got me as a joke present for Christmas one year. We went over her house for Christmas Eve and she had it and gave it to me with such a smirk on her face. I didn't get back into collecting hardcore tho until last September when I found LOD and Luger at Wal Mart and that kick started everything

This Wrestlemania elite Rock was the first figure I got for myself. Before that I had been buying figs for my son, but this was the figure that got me addicted, still one of my personal favourites

I remember going checking Smyths every day for weeks around December/January and nothing. Then they finally got some Flexforce so I bought Matt Hardy and Rey Mysterio just to have some Mattel WWE product, but returned them without opening them.
I caved and ordered some online, and between the terrible snow here at the time and delivery snafus, it was late January before I got them. It was such a good morning when I finally got my hands on them.
Elite 1 (all besides MVP), the Jericho/Michaels two-pack and the Santino/Beth Phoenix two-pack.

I used to collect Jakks and then started losing interest in wrestling altogether. My brother and I found a local action figure/hobby shop a couple summers ago and we went in to check it out. Most of the guys prices were way too high for opened figures, collector items or not, but not his WWE stuff. He had a bin of them sitting on the floor, mostly all Jakks. As I went through them I found a couple highly articulated figures; Elite series 2 HHH, Elite series 3 Santino Marella, Elite series 3 Shawn Michaels, and Elite series 4 Kane. The fact that there was so much articulation and detail had me hooked, the fact that the owner told me they were $3 a piece and they had all of their accessories had me even more hooked. I looked up what they were when I got home and now I have over 200 elites, a special glass case I keep them in, a whole other shelving system dedicated to just a CM Punk collection.....ya my first $3 a piece Mattel's hit me with the addiction bug worse than anything I had ever experienced. It's for the better though, I love them. Only thing I have never sold any of, my WWE Mattel Elite collection. Proud to say that.

All of the first series I bought everyone they had the basics and elites and 2 packs. They kept saying not available until January my wife found them Dec 26th I was like fill the cart lol I was so done with Jakks scale at that point. Like most was hesitant to start a full force collection but after I saw how spot on the scales were I was sold.

I remember a few TRU started putting out the mattel figures a few days before they were supposed to be on shelves for new years. Mine dud it a day before new years and I scored all Basic 1, Elite 1, and Battle Pack 1.
Great day
