Brian Pillman passed away 18 years ago today, on October 5th, 1997. Another one who was gone too soon.

Loved his match with Austin from Raw in 1997 and really enjoyed him in the Hart Foundation.

His WWE career wasn't anything to be remembered sadly. When I think of Brian Pillman, I think of his WCW run, the Hollywood Blondes tag team, and how he and Jushin Liger put on matches that hadn't been seen in North America until then.
If Brian hadn't broke his ankle in that car crash, I could only imagine how good his WWE career would have been.

His matches With Jushin Liger were amazing and The Hollywood Blondes were criminally cut short. The Loose Cannon will love on forever.

another huge case of "what might have been if not for the accident". I can only imagine what his career in WWF would have been like.......the sky was the limit I would say.

I still think that if he hadn't had the injury, and came into the WWF 100%, we could have seen a great Loose Cannon/Stone Cold feud, instead of the few occasions the two of them had. I know some people might disagree, but I still say, a healthy Brian Pillman, as the Loose Cannon, could have been a great foil for Austin as WWF Champion. And who knows, at one point, the two of them could have been on the same side again at one point, and we could have seen an edgier reunion of what was once the Hollywood Blondes.

Loved his crazy persona and his in-ring ability was excellent. Really a shame he died so young.

I have a few memories of Brian Pillman that I would like to share in this thread.
First of all here in the UK WCW was on regular TV and WWE was on Sky, I was by far a bigger WWE fan than WCW so I only caught little bits of WCW, but I saw enogh to know which wrestlers where which and who I liked and I had a fondness for Brian Pillman. I wish I would tell you it was because of how awesome he was as part of the Hollywood Blondes (that would be later I would appreciate how amazing they were) but it was because of his WCW action figure. The version of him with the blue tiger knee pads was one of my favourite figures as a kid and one I vividly remember hunting for. That to this day is one of my favourite toys of all time and the memories I have of looking for it are just as precious.
the other memory I want to share is the incident on RAW when he pulled a gun on Steve Austin. Holy crap was this intense I remember watching this at a friends house when RAW used to be on Fridays at 5pm after school here in the UK and we both sort of just sat there in total shock. By far it was one of the most crazy things I had ever seen in wrestling and the whole segment still really holds up well to this day.

Loved his work in both WWF and WCW, and he was a great addition to the Hart clan.. Wish he could have made it a little deeper into the AE, because he could have killed it.

Pillman would have been a huge star in the Attitude Era in my opinion. Such a talent. RIP.

Pillman.......one of my absolute favorites. And the first wrestling death that really hit me hard. Very few talents had the ability to transition his style from a high flying technical whiz, to the polar opposite epitome of unhinged and unpredictable. Although short lived, my favorite version of the Horsemen (outside of the third version with Windham) was Flair,Anderson, Benoit, and Pillman. The potential to run with that group was amazing, yet it was virtually untouched. His time in WWF, sadly, would be summed up in a similar way, although his time in the Hart Foundation was productive. No doubt were he healthy, he would have been the anti-Austin during the boom period. He ,literally, would have been a license for Vince to print money coupled against Austin. No question in my mind about that. Such a tragic and sad fate, that very ironically ,fit the persona of the enigma that was the Loose Cannon. You are still incredibly missed Mr Pillman.....

Pillman was a guy that I enjoyed through the years. There wasn't anything he did that I didn't enjoy. The guy had it all.

What could have been without that wreck? I think him and Austin could have done great business if he was 100% coming in.
