Good ol' Chico Santana. Thanks for sharing! Thanks for reading! I love that you called him 'Chico'. He mentioned that Jesse Ventura gave him the name! He's hated that name ever since lol.

Last update for the year and it’s a quick one. Tajiri, Mikey Whipwreck, Jazz, and Tommy Dreamer were in Toronto yesterday for Greektown Wrestling. I bought my ticket for this show back when they went on sale a month or so ago. I decided to go the “Extreme VIP” route which included a meet and greet with all four stars, as well as admission to the wrestling show after. I didn’t have much of a need for Tommy but needed the other three. This would be much more economical. The meet and greet was to start. Wanting to get a good spot in line, I get to the venue of the meet and greet, which was a small diner, at 2:30 and have the first spot in line. A few more people start trickling in, but surprisingly, not many. I would have expected more people to be there, but there seemed to be a decent line by the time the meet and greet was underway. About 2:50, josecalderon shows up and I get a Tajiri figure from him that he found locally for me when he was looking for something to get signed for himself. I don’t own a MOC Tajiri figure, so it was nice of him to help me out with that. Thanks again; great seeing you! 3:00 comes, and of course, things are running late. We get an update that said the meet and greet would be starting at about 3:30. Turns out, everyone, except Tommy Dreamer hadn’t arrived yet. A few minutes before 3:30, the three are seen across the street. Another five minutes later, the meet and greet finally starts. I go in, show my ticket (though they didn’t even ask me to), and pay the additional fee for extra autographs on top of the one per that my ticket included. Each wrestler was at their own table side-by-side to each other. The first meet was Tajiri, who was quiet, but perhaps that because of the language barrier. I stick my hand out for a handshake, and he shakes my hand with both of his, respectfully. I first have him sign a program, a DVD cover, and the encyclopedia. Tajiri’s autograph is the farthest left on the DVD cover. Next, I had him sign the figure that josecalderon helped me out with. I asked him to sign it in white paint, and personalized to me. Afterwards, we took a picture, and thank each other. I then go over to the side of the venue (keep in mind that this is a small venue, space was limited) and gather my stuff together. Once I have everything set for the next meet, I go up to Mikey. Again, start off with a handshake and told him that it was nice to meet him. He said that it is nice to meet me to, and I continue by saying: “I hope you enjoy it here in Toronto!”. He then tells me “it’s been great so far!”. I first have him sign two DVD covers. Mikey’s autograph on the Rise and Fall DVD is above the E, while his autograph on the Blood Sport DVD is towards the bottom right. I then had Mikey sign my ECW Belt. As requested by Grumpyoldman a few months ago, a picture of all the autographs on my belt are below. Just click the spoiler tag. After Mikey signs my stuff, we shake hands again. Mikey was quiet also, but definitely polite. Again, I put my stuff away (I’m pretty much juggling everything) and move onto the next meet who was Jazz. Jazz was decent. To me, she seemed a bit standoffish. She wasn’t rude or anything, but it just didn’t seem genuine. She noticed me taking pictures and stopped to pose for one though. Perhaps she was tired or have a bad day. She was decent enough. I told her that I was excited to hear that she would be at this show, and she thanked me for that. I had her sign my program and encyclopedia. As she signed, Tommy Dreamer was taking a look at the program, and then her page on my encyclopedia, and commented that he’s “wrestled everyone on the page, except for Owen”. After she signed, she stood up for the photo-op, which I’m glad she did. The last meet of the day was Tommy Dreamer. I’ve met him several times (and probably have like twenty autographs from him), so I didn’t have much of a need for him. He’s in the Impact Wrestling Slammiversary program so I got him to sign it. I could have easily gotten him to sign it back in the summer when I met him outside the Impact Tapings venue, but it slipped my mind. I told him that I was at the event and that I really enjoyed his match. In response, he said that he enjoyed it too and also said “thanks for being there!” And that was the meet and greet! Though I kind of wanted to stick around for the show, I couldn’t because I had two exams the next day (today.. hence why the report is up a day late). Thanks for reading! It was a great year for meet and greets!

Consider me jealous! Mikey Whipwreck is (strangely) my favorite ECW talent - I'd give my left and consider the right to meet him. Tajiri's a nice added bonus. Man, I thought the trio of those two and the Sinister Minister were just the cat's ass back in the day. Jazz is coming to a fan con around these parts next year, and she's definitely on my radar to potentially meet.

Jazz always looked like a bloke... but now, she looks like Booker T in a wig.

I've heard that Tajiri actually speaks perfect English but kayfabes absolutely everyone. I'm sure a couple of wrestlers, can't remember who, have told stories about when he's blurted something out in perfect English when their guard is down and they've all done a double take.

A quick report for the first meet and greet of the year. Al Snow was in Mississauga, ON today at the Ontario Collectors’ Con, a small toy convention. He was signing during the whole duration of the show (10-4), but I wanted to get there early enough such that I could go through the dealer room in hopes of finding an Al Snow figure to get signed in addition to my encyclopedia. I brought myself a paint marker in case I would end up finding one. I get there around 11:15, join the line to get in and am in the convention within a matter of minutes. I do a brief look at one section of the dealers’ room, but when I saw that Al had no line, I figured I’d go and meet him to get the encyclopedia out of the way. I approach the table, and at the table is josecalderon (Ryan) who is helping Al and his handler out. Turns out that Al’s handler is one of Ryan's buddies. I say my hello to Ryan and his friend, who remembered me from when I met him at a past convention. I then ask and pay for four autographs and a photo. Once that was settled, I hand my phone over to Ryan to take pictures for me, then shake Al’s hand. I tell him that it is nice to meet him, and he smiles and tells me the same thing. I then begin to open my encyclopedia, to which Al says: “Ah! The encyclopedia!”. Ryan’s friend/the handler tells Al: “this guy is a big wrestling fan!”, as I open up to the Al Snow entry. Al signs it, and I then open up to the next entry under his “Avatar” gimmick. Then, I flip to the JOB Squad entry. As I do so, Al asks: “do you know where all of them [the sections in the book] are?”. I tell him that I think I do, and then flip over to the New Rockers entry where he signs as Leif Cassidy. Once he signs as Leif Cassidy, he tells me: “there’s one more!”. I was puzzled because I thought I had all of them accounted for. He starts flipping through the book and arrives at the Tough Enough entry. I say: “oh ‘Tough Enough’! I actually have the DVD!”. I did not consider this an “official” entry of his, but he is mentioned in the section and he signed it without asking me to pay for a fifth autograph and without hesitation! I thank him, and he thanks me as well. I then proceed to ask for the photo-op. For the photo, Al got up from his seat and posed with HEAD for a great photo-op (having a good photographer helped too). We thank each other again and I go into the dealers’ room to look at the toys. As I do so, I find a vendor with a random Al Snow figure. I couldn’t resist, and at a $20 price tag, I bought it. It was a bit dusty, so I went to the washroom of the venue to get a paper towel to clean it off before I get Al to sign it. While doing this, Al is also in the washroom but is drying is hands lol. I get the window of the figure cleaned and head back to Al’s table. The handler tells Al: “Alex is back!”, to which Al smiles and says, “welcome back, Alex!”. I then hand him a paint marker and have him sign the figure, personalized. I pay the autograph right afterwards. Once he signs it, I thank him again, and he replies, “thank you, Alex”, with a smile. While I didn’t converse with him much, he seemed to be very nice, sincere, and appreciated the fans who came to see him. Lastly, I was also able to see and catch up with ARUN at the convention who is always great to see. First meet of the year was a great one. It should be a few weeks until the next report. Thanks for reading!

Nice report. I was supposed to meet Al snow on two separate occasions, but both times there were conflict in his schedule and he couldn't make it. My brother was able to get my classic superstars figure signed for me though last year at wrestlecon. Seems like a nice guy.

A quick report for the only report of the month. This one features Simon Gotch, and making yet another appearance in my thread, John Morrison. Those two, along with Justin Gabriel, appeared for a Destiny Wrestling and Blackcraft Wrestling collaboration in Mississauga, ON at Santino’s gym. The priority for me was Simon Gotch, who I had never met before. Doors were to open at 7. I get there at about 6:45 after doing some figure hunting (scored a basic Drew Gulak for $5.98 at TRU!) and am greeted by a crowd at the door waiting for the doors to be open. 5 minutes before 7, VIPs get let in, followed by those who purchased first and second row tickets. Finally, just past 7, general admission ticket holders were let in. Once I got in, I went straight to the merch area. Morrison had a line of about ten people; however, Gotch didn’t have a line. This was perfect. I go straight up to Gotch, who unlike most wrestlers, is not standing behind his merch table, but is actually standing somewhat in front of it. To me, it seemed like he was a very personable guy. Anyways, I hand him my Battle Pack and ask him how much it is for him to sign it. He respectfully says: “ten”, and I tell him: “I actually need three autographs from you”. To which he says: “we can do the three for $20.” I tell him that that’s a fair deal and hand him my white paint marker to sign my Battle Pack with. As he signs the Battle Pack, I tell him that I was a big fan of the Vaudevillians gimmick, which he thanked me for. I then open up two programs and have him sign them. Despite being different programs, the same picture is used. He also made sure to first give back my white paint marker by sneaking it into one of my jacket pockets lol. I also tell him that I saw his shoot on Enzo Amore on YouTube. He smiles and says: “that was actually a three-hour long interview. I feel bad because someone uploaded that little clip on YouTube and monetized it. Now it has like a million views and the guy who recorded the video gets nothing!”. I tell him I didn’t know the interview was that long and that “I couldn’t help but laugh at some of the stories you told about him”. He then says something like: “that’s the reaction I usually get… other people get angry”. After that conversation, I wanted to take a picture, but before I asked for a photo I said: “let me get you your money”, to which he says, “that is always appreciated”. I hand him a twenty, and ask for a photo, which he was more than happy to do. Simon Gotch was great. He seems like a very personable and intellectual person to talk to. I then joined the line for John Morrison, which shrank a bit. I had not yet put my Battle Pack back into my bag yet so as to let the paint dry. The people in front of me in line saw the Battle Pack and yelled: “ah! The Vaudevillians!”. Simon Gotch heard and motioned his index finger to his face as if to say “shhhh…”. He then crouched down, pretending to hide. The fan apologizes and says that he didn’t mean to offend him. Gotch starts smiling and goes up to the fan in front of me and says that it’s cool and that “I was just doing a bit there” and shakes his hand. (Again, Gotch is super cool!). Finally, about ten minutes later, I meet John Morrison who is charging $10 for autographs. I had him sign two Rumblers sets. I’ve met him several times, so I didn’t have much to say to him, but I told him that I don’t watch Survivor at all, but I had to watch the season you were on solely because you were on it. He thanks me and says that he wishes he performed better on the show. After he signed, we took a picture together. Once I got Morrison, the show was about to start. I grabbed a seat and stayed for the show this time, which was great. John Morrison defeated Justin Gabriel in the co-main event, while Josh Alexander defeated Simon Gotch to close off the show. Thanks for reading!

Great report! I like reading your experiences. I'm glad Gotch finally shaved that mustache off. So are there still Toys R Us stores operating in Canada?
